Bad Detail on Inner Hatch
My car was VIN #76 and spent quite some time in Nashville, coming to me with 29 miles on the odometer. I wonder if part of the time was spent replacing the rear hatch glass?
I noticed some really cut-rate seam joining, adhesive, and paint on the inside of the hatch. You have to go looking for it, and it's certainly not something that a casual observer would ever see, but once you know it's there, it really looks like a hack job on an otherwise nicely detailed final assembly.
Very hard to get closeup pictures that place the details in context, but see if you can get my meaning from these:
The clear stuff is big glops of hot glue, not water. Tsk tsk!

Stingray was rushed into production plain and simple! My $17k honda fit does not have these issus and hasn't had a single problem in 5 yrs and 160,000 miles. I know it is not a high compression, high hp/tq sports car, but this crap is starting to make my stomach turn. Luckily my 2009Z has been without issue thus far. Knock wood!

That does look very bad... Especially for a "brand new" $70K car.
It almost looks like a sloppy cut rate body shop repair. Almost like someone repaired something that may have been damaged.
I kinda agree with the others, some of this stuff looks unacceptable.

No it shouldn't that is just stupid.
The issue, like others, will get fixed. It is a manufactured object, it will of course have minor issues.
Sorry for the guy that has the car, I know what a headache it can be. Hopefully the dealer gets it sorted fast.

Could the dealer or shipper have repaired it????

So your telling me a DEALER should repaint the inside hatch area? I don't know about your Chevy dealer, but my dealers in town could not even work on a 1991 ZR1. Now that is a receipe for distaster. That should have NEVER gotten past quality control and someone at the plant should be FIRED! My 8 year old daughter could have spotted that messed up paint and goop!

This reminds me of my 1968 Pilot Job Corvette. On the day I took it home in 1967 the windows would not roll back up, heater would not shut off, windshield wipers hit each other, vacuum system stopped working and fiber optics started falling off; otherwise a fantastic car!

Ship it!
Makes you wonder what other shortcuts get taken on these cars. To us, they are special. It does not seem this is the case to GM.
I have a feeling this was known and it was decided to send the car and clear it out and deal with it IF the customer complained. It should not have to come to that.
Sorry to see you have to waste your time and deal with an issue that should have never been on you. I'm sure you are busy enough.

There is another thread going on with a car missing the door sills completely, with just a bare space showing where they are supposed to be! Un-freaking-believable!
