Goodbye 13 GS NRB Hello AR Z51 C7
Got home from a great experience with Dave Gill in Columbus Ohio. They are a small Corvette dealer and only sell 10 cars a year but a fellow forum member in a fluke 5 minute meeting in Bowling Green hooked me up with them and what a ride!!!! I live 2 hours north of them.
When I left Bowling Green from the 60th I was not feeling the love for the C7. Frankly I told my wife I need to look at other options which I did.
Gill gave me 48K for the GS which ends up with over a 3k tax credit here in Ohio, I had paid 52 in November and at almost 8K miles the goodyears where getting a little thin, and a 4% discount on the C7 MSRP. Said don't need a deposit and keep the GS til the C7 comes in October. This was July 16th. Frankly I did not know if they would deliver, sounded too good to be true..... since we had nothing more then an email exchange, a verbal handshake, if the deal would actually close.
I loved my 13 GS. It is a great car. When I drove down today I was convinced to not fall for the C7. Wife had picked white with a red interior and white is not really my choice. White was not on display at the 60th. First thing I asked the dealer is if it does not grab me can I walk? He said sure..... if you are not happy why would we ever force you to buy a car? Seemed fair........
But what can I say? Love or lust at first sight!!!! Then the drive WOW. I did not want this car!!! I had a new beautiful C6 NRB and it sparkled in the sun today!!! I drove the car 5 miles and that was it. 130 miles home....... played with a lot of the toys very straight forward.
Ride was great.... shifted so smooth, radio is awesome...... one fault for me...... dash needs to be a little brighter at dusk.... probably 10 minutes of transition.
This car is simply a homerun!!!!! There was not a time I did not catch someone taking a picture, thumbs up etc.
Here are few pictures of my day!!!
Can't wait to go to work tomorrow...... 6 am will not come soon enough..... C7 drive time!!!
Yea that is me.... I'm 60 the GS is a 60th anniversary.... the 7 is a 61 and so will I be next month.... I can't keep doing this.
I swore I'd never have black wheels again...........

Congrats. Your new 7 looks great.
What was the NRB like to live with - i.e. did it show dirt much or was it a forgiving color?
Also, how the 7 compare to the GS from a driving standpoint?

Greg,
The car looks great and congrats. I recall the deal you got and it's awesome that the dealer held up their end of the sale.
Enjoy!
