Hopefully it will remain noise free. The C6Z hatch creaked and squeaked, dielectric grease on the seal helped some but it was still annoying.

Ask this question again in a couple of years. You won't have any objective feedback until once the cars are more used and settled.

Well, maybe not. That "stiffer frame" rationale was also a recent quote by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter at the Natl Corvette Museum 20th Anniversary Caravan, when we discussed issues on the '14, '15 Stingray coupes. But....on my way home from Bowling Green (800 miles), I 'briefly' heard that dreaded snap/crackle/pop noise, as it was in both our '05 and '08 C6 coupes. Our C7 has about 4,400 miles on it (May '14 delivery), and so far, other than a bullet-rock in the windshield in Missouri, all is fine. However, this brief recent evidence of possible emergence of the top-noise has me very cautious, and I alerted my Chevy dealer this week when I had my first Mobil-1 oil and filter change. Am off on another NCRS trip to Boston and the cape next week, so I will analyse the situation then....and let ya'll know. Fingers and toes crossed......

I am curious as to whether the transparent roof, or carbon fiber roofs are more prone to producing noises. Perhaps those owners who are experiencing some unwanted sounds could tell us what type of roof they have.

7600 miles and no noise with the painted roof. I've had the top off several times.

But there is a problem and some of the Mods have even chimed in on it. Doesn't affect all but I have it and the "snap, crackle and pop" is worse than my '08.

I do have some info on how to fix it and I posted that elsewhere for those who want to search.

Seems the boogeyman is alive and well in a few of the C7s.

I have 3000 miles on my car, started noticing some rattles and creaks from roof (regular painted roof) around 2000.

Its better now that I have tightened the rear latch, no rattle now, but still some creaks. Couple more things to try.

not sure where you have been but the problem didnt stop in 2009...myself and many others post 2009 have the noisy top...mine is awful even with all the fixes ( o rings and lube) both the clear and painted. I think its a legitimate question and concern.
and the lube works great also.

My top fits tightly. It's been on and off many times with no problems, squeaks or rattles. The only thing I did was lube the gaskets with silicone grease as recommended.
