Default C7 vs. C6 on the street..

First "street racing" video I have seen to date of the new Stingray...

Not sure GM intended the engines to be broken in like that but it was fun to watch .

Oh btw... Street racing is bad!

Fixed it for ya. Generalizing is a bad thing because it can lead to unnecessary conflicts.

What is with the sporadic blinking C7 tail lights? I've seen that before in another video or two.

Also, I was gonna say something was seriously up with that C6, but judging by the wheels, as said that is an ls2 car, and no idea if it has base, or z51 gearing. No surprise with the outcome.

The camera takes vid at about 30 frames per sec. The lights are actually blinking at another frequency. It is not perceivable to the human eye and it looks like about 50 hz or so, but hard to tell. It will show on video though. Not sure why they do it, but it may be a pwm method of dimming the lights. Then using different frequencies for brightness levels.

The blinking is caused by the camera's shutter speed differing with this modulation frequency of the LED's. Most LED's are multiplexed and don't actually stay fully lit all the time however the naked eye cannot pick it up.

I hope this stays up.
It finally puts the debate to rest. The stock C7 smokes a modded C6.
That is all that has to be seen.

Lol one video ends the debate? Not saying the C7 isn't faster, I think it is, but we'll need to see several more of these to corroborate the result.

I agree but unless a C7 driver can't drive or the C6 is more heavily modded, the C7 will always be faster. Having said that... stop light racing doesn't mean much to me either way. Road course times... now THAT is something I pay attention to

Again, cannot use a broad paintbrush here....the C6 has just a CAI and catback (per the video: Intake, Exhaust)....not what you would call a heavy modded car. Plus as others stated, may be an LS-2 and not the LS-3.

this video doesnt prove anything...the C6 doesnt even look like it was even trying.. and the guy in the C7 was short shifting,, he could have maximized his gearing and gone even faster..
That color (black on black ) is exactly the way Im getting it.. looks awesome..

I will never understand this rolling start. The guy the beeps the horn always has the advantage. I am not saying that the C6 would have done any better if it was a standing start, and if the C7 was not able to beat the C6 there would be a lot of upset C7 owners. Not sure why they even wanted to post it. I think anyone worth there salt in Corvette knowledge would expect the C7 to out preform a C6.

OH and IBIL

The mini mirror on the C6 says it all.
