They want to appeal to the younger crowd. Oh yeah come from a Corolla to a vette
and good bet they try and drive it the same. So you got the young who think
nothing is going to happen, run it like heck. Than the old crowd who can see where
they are going with 450 horsepower. How can wrecks not happen. It also could
have boiled down to they are so low to the ground and a truck just don't see the thing
and ran over it.

unfortunately were probably going to see a lot more posts like these, combine the hype of the new model and a lot of first time sports car buyers not familiar with the power of the car gets some into trouble.

Note to self - engage "valet mode" before leaving the car with mechanics/detailers/installers (assuming the craigslist thing is true).
I think I said it in my review post - the car makes you feel like a badass - and you shouldn't, because then you may end up doing something stupid. Every time I get in the car I refer to it as an animal just so I'll have the subliminal thought in the back of my head that it needs to be respected or else it could bite.

that didn't take long now, did it? The wrecked silver-colored 2014 corvette stingray that we showed you earlier this morning made its appearance on craigslist in omaha, nebraska, about an hour after our original post. The picture of the car is accompanied by the following message:
"i'm parting out my corvette since it was wrecked. Gave it to some guy named mikey g to detail it and the next thing i know it turns up wrecked. So i'm parting it out now. Still has good engine and was only wrecked in the rear and top. Has the 7 speed manual transmission. Only has 1257 miles on it. Will not sell whole so don't ask."
since we're always wary with anything that has to do with craigslist, we attempted to call the listed phone (…even though a quick search online turned up the provided numbers translating into "f@#% you" and " you s@#$ on the key-pad), only to learn that the "number you called cannot be completed as dialed".
And oh, there's no other way to contact the seller, so we're leaning towards "troll" on this one, for now…

Well, I'll put on my flame retardant suit and differ with an opinion.
(assuming this was a single-car accident where the fault can be attributed to the driver,) I don't really care if the driver is OK or not. I've seen people doing stupid life-endangering things on the public streets--like two motorcyclists going down the interstate about 75 MPH on their back wheels--and when I see crap like that, I usually say to my wife, "I hope they have a single-car crash that leaves them unable to drive" (and therefore removes the opportunity for their next accident to involve an innocent victim). Harsh? Yeah. But when a friend of yours is killed due to the stupidity of another, you might find yourself leaning my way in opinion.
Assuming some idiot crashed into the car from behind (or some similar no-fault accident), then most definitely hoping the driver is/was OK and extending sympathies for the damage to their new car. Even the first ding hurts...that would be insurmountable.

Well of course you need all of that stuff, besides GM will sell the LT1 as a crate motor very soon and you will se them showing up in old schol muscle in no time.

Everyone seems awful quick to blame the driver without knowing any of the circumstances of the accident.
Anybody here remember the issue with the active handling problem that would cause the car to suddenly and unexpectedly pull hard one way or the other at speed? With all the problems of the C7, I would not be at all surprised to find they have a bug in the new "steer by wire" electric steering system or in something wrong with the brakes or active handling system.
