Nice job, but I sure wouldn't want my car torn apart like that.

WOW! In my humble opinion, the HUD is not worth it. I had one in my C6. After a month or so, it got to the point that I didn't notice it on the windshield. I had to make a conscious effort to use it.

Andrew, thanks for the informative post. That answers a question I had.

What do you think the final cost will be parts and labor. In other words buying 2lt maybe cheaper is what I was driving at.

with parts and labor I'd say over $2000. The projector by itself costs more than parts and labor for a c6 install not to mention a dash.

Holy cow. The ingenuity of our members is impressive. For those folks that feel the 1LT is "settling" I would suggest getting behind the wheel of a car with the HUD, configure the center LCD as desired and then turn off the HUD.
It think folks will be surprised just how good the basic gauge cluster(s) are in the C7. That was my first introduction to a C7.
But as others have said and it bears repeating, if you absolutely must have the HUD the 2LT package has to be the best bang for the buck. I'd forgo other options to get the 2LT almost every other option can be added after the fact and in many instances for less than the option price. Examples: two roof option is $1995, get the solid top and buy the glass top for $1595 and there's $400 in your pocket, buy the base wheels and trade them for the chrom wheels and save $600. The NPP is nice but NOT needed. So with judicial selection of options you can find a way to get a 2LT.
Just a thought.
