Default I want NO dome lights when turning the engine off.

I want NO dome lights turning on when I turn the engine off.
I have tried the Vehicle settings and nothing seems to work.
For security reasons I don't want the interior lights to turn on when I stop my car.

If I can't set an option, can a Chevy Tech modify the car's internal setup?

I don't want to take the bulbs out of the dome lights.. but if I have to I will.

Thanks.

Hi agapsdiver,

If you check out page 5-41 of your manual, there is information on how to personalize your vehicle. A paragraph relating to dome lights can be found on page 5-44. Exit Lighting: This allows the selection of how long the exterior lamps stay on when leaving the vehicle when it is dark outside. Select Off, 30 Seconds, 60 Seconds, or 120 Seconds.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Kelly, "exterior" means outside lights.

"Dome" lights are the lights inside the car.

Thank you ZL-1 for noticing that I posted the wrong information.

The correct information can be found on page 6-6 of the owner's manual. On that page you will find information regarding lighting

Courtesy Lamps
When any door or the rear compartment is opened, the interior lamps will come on. The rear compartment lights only come on when the rear compartment is opened. To turn the courtesy lamps on or off, turn the instrument panel brightness **** completely clockwise or counterclockwise.

Lighting Features
Entry Lighting
The headlamps, parking lamps, taillamps, license plate lamps, back-up lamps, outside mirror lamps, dome lamp, and most of the interior lamps turn on briefly when K is pressed on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. When the driver door is opened, all
control lights, Driver Information Center (DIC) lights, and door pocket lights turn on. After about 30 seconds the exterior lamps turn off, and then the dome and remaining interior lamps dim to off. Entry lighting can be disabled manually by changing the ignition out of the OFF position, or by pressing Q on the RKE transmitter. This feature can be changed. See “Vehicle Locator Lights” under Vehicle Personalization on page 5-41.

On page 5-41 Vehicle Personalization Use the audio system controls to access the personalization menus for customizing vehicle features. The following are all possible
personalization features. Depending on the vehicle, some may not be available.

I hope that this helps. I also hope that my Father does not see my first post- he would be disappointed!

Thanks,

Kelly J.
