Default ** BEWARE ** Trolls & and their behavior ~

Many of you have been complaining about "trolls," and their behavior in the C7 section, therefore, I thought we should have a reminder of how to handle them.

Trolls can come from anywhere. Some are new members, some old, some are Corvette Owners, some are not, some like other cars/manufacturers, some like only Chevy's but, take note, legitimate/valid complaints do not always equate to being a troll.

What to do when a troll is spotted:

If the title of a thread does not indicate "troll," click to enter like you would any other thread.

Once inside, if the comments are sincere, participate. If the comments are "troll," like and pot stirring, you must decide if you want to fight or take flight.

If you decide to fight and play into the hands of the "troll," chances are that you will end up violating one of these forum rules:

1) Online Conflicts:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/foru...conflicts.html

2) Personal attacks & Hostility toward others:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/foru...rd-others.html

Your engaging the "troll," can actually jeopardize your posting privileges

Here's the recommended action:

Take flight! Leave the thread and avoid engaging in a discussion that will get you no where regardless of all the facts/stats or time you put into the discussion.

The "trolls," mission is not to win or lose, but, to cause the participants to stress out, get emotionally involved, get angry, and then respond contrary to the rules.

If your are concerned with a potential "troll," or "troll," thread, click this icon: under your user name to report the thread and comments made. This will allow the forum Moderators to intervene and deal with the thread/troll.

Remember, if you do not engage what you perceive to be a "troll," and report them, you will save yourself a lot of wasted time and energy, you will not jeopardize your posting privileges due to name calling, personal attacks, and hostility, and best of all, the thread will either be locked, deleted or fall off the page without satisfying the "trolls," intent.

In closing, here's the two options again:

1) fight, and jeopardize your own posting privileges,

2) leave the thread, click on the rectangular icon to report it so a Mod. can handle it, and then move onto a thread worth your time and efforts

Enjoy your new C7's and hope no issues arise, if they do, get them fixed and get back to enjoying them
