Painted RIMS
The painted C7 RIMS, whether silver or black, didn't appeal to me and no black/silver machine faced wheels were offered. So when the sticky tires were being replaced with some A/S tires I took a few days and had my rims powder coated.
The rims were chemically stripped and bead blasted. The top of the 10 Z51 wheel spokes, center and outer rim of each wheel was masked off and the unmasked part of the wheel was powder coated in a black satin. Then the whole wheel was clear coated.
The idea was to match my C6 wheels, which I spray painted black between the spokes. But those were polished wheels. These wheels would look better if the spokes had been polished before clear coating.
Not fishing for opinions, just showing something a bit different.

Awesome!
I'm planning on just getting the 'base' Z51 wheels (silver painted) and getting them done by a local powdercoating shop that's done plenty of work for us in the past.
You said your wheels were acid dipped? Would you say doing that versus getting them just media blasted would make a difference in the appearance of the masked off areas? It looks like it's got a somewhat matte / brushed finish.

Good work, I also have some powdering in store during the winter.

Looks fantastic. Gives is some nice depth. I'd be curious to see what the entire wheel would look like powder-coated in this color. I'm a fan of the C6 graphite Grand Sport wheels.
