Default Drop Tops are on the line

I almost forgot to point out another observation from my factory tour when I picked up my new Baby.......They are building the convertibles now! Although I missed the million dollar Hendrick coming off it was on Friday the 8th. Looked like every other can was a drop top so Congrats to all of those waiting, it should be soon!

I'm placing my order Monday. " I hope" these units don't take the long Quality Control route to dealers.

Now the wait begins, I am ordering the worst configuration from a wait standpoint. Not only will the be delays for the convertible I am also ordering the Z-51. The combination of the vert and the Z-51 make me worried that there will be a long wait.

Awesome!

Every other car is like 50 or 60 Convertibles per day, right?
I wonder how far back I am in line (still at 3100 status as of yesterday).

They were running every other car in groups of like 20. Currently they are building140 to 152 a day. Even though they were just starting everyone on the line was working and acting as though they had been building them since day one. They are a great crew building our cars!

That's great news for those that have been waiting for the new vert to arrive. Will be a nice holiday gift for those lucky owners.

Nice to hear some confirmation that the vert production has actually started. There are a number of us on CF that have vert orders in and are at 3400, so it looks like they will be built soon.

As far as the QC hold, I would hope that it would not be very long. If you think about it. The mechanicals and body fit and finish are the same as a coupe except for the convertible top mechanism and the rear deck and trunk lid. This difference is a very small percentage based on the overall assembly of the car.

Hope so but I doubt it. If history repeats it's self. I say more like beginning / Middle of Dec.
