Painted Carbon Flash Stinger Stripe
I just had a Carbon Flash Stinger Stripe painted on my hood. I'm not trying to throw "The General" under the bus, but they charge $500 for the vinyl stinger stripe (DTW). I had my painted on for $350.
Looks and feels really great with the edges of the stripe "buried" with clear coat.
I had planned on painting the mirrors CF also, but I changed my mind. I need to think about that some more.

What is interesting is how he masked it. Look at this photo. You will note that he masked the stripe slightly larger than the extractor opening and continued around and included the opening. That's much better then trying to line it up with the sides of heat extractor opening. Otherwise, that corner would never look right.

Alfie, that's the way it ought to be done! Very nice, indeed! I noticed how it lined up better than the vinyl application when I saw the first pic you posted. I like it!

Alfie-
That looks amazing! Very well done, regarding the mirrors; I'm not sure. I'm on the fence as to if it makes the car look too "choppy" - if that makes sense. Very nice bro.

The stripe looks fantastic! This is just another example of items that you can order on the car and pay top dollar for like chrome or black wheels, HUD, exhaust, cargo covers and floor mats you'll be able to get after market for 25% to 50% less and in many cases even more. It pays to check it out first.

Mariano, how'd the clear coat match with the fender panels? From the pictures, it looks goooood! And it's not like you touched the TR base coat so no worries on color match. BTW, how far forward did your painter take the flash?
As far as the black mirrors, I'm with you I'm not yet sold on the just hanging out there look. Besides, you've already got a lot of flash on the TR.
