Default Compared to my last 911-WOW!!!!!!

I received my Z51/3LT CG/Kalihari/ Auto/MRC yesterday morning. I bought it from **** and had it transported to Southern California. It was a pleasure doing business with *** as I conducted the purchase over the phone. It replaces my 2011 Porsche 997 Cabriolet (Tiptronic) which was my eighth 911. I have put only 150 miles on the C7 but the experience has blown me away. I don't see how any future 911 purchaser who drives a C7 will even think of buying the 911. The styling performance and quality of this C7 is beyond belief. Congratulations to the Corvette team for bringing us such a dream car.

Tiptronic was replaced in the 997 in 2009 by PDK so I am wondering in the OP should correct his post. 2009 was the year 997 went to 997.2.

Good catch. After 7 911's, it would be easy to get the transmissions mixed up.

As the word gets out, I imagine once 911(and boxster/cayman) drivers try out a C7, there will be steady migration to the C7. The C6, especially it's later improved versions( GS,Z06,ZR1) are awesome street supercars and the C7 takes it up to a substantial higher level.

I hope the OP is right, as I ordered a C7 without a test drive (I've actually never even been a passenger in a Corvette of any generation) and am coming from a long line of 911's. I'm not getting rid of a 911 to get the C7, just hoping to be blown away, and from everything I've read I believe I will be.

Congrats on your new Stingray, OP!

Nice feedback and hope you enjoy yours more & more... what an awesome car it is! My brother who has a Boxster mentioned similar experience as yours... the new C7 is simply above & beyond!

If history repeats, you will not see the OP come back to this thread.

Me too

Could be true, but I do not know any Porsche owner that calls their 2011 911 Automatic a Tiptronic.............maybe you really owned a 997.1? If that is the case your post makes more sense, but considering you owned 8 I find it difficult to believe you could make that mistake.

Glad you are Happy, I am debating the switch, but it would not be for a few years, I want to see what else they come out with.

I owned at 997 Carrera and now own a C7 Z51 having ordered it sight unseen, without a test drive, AND before all the glowing reviews came out. The C7 is without a doubt the best , most fun car I have ever owned, and I don't miss the Carrera in the least. I hope you have the same experience.

So the Les Stanford deal didn't work out?

As soon as he said the quality is beyond belief I realized he must be working for GM or a dealer.

This is good to hear! I drove a 2013 Cayman S before choosing the C7 instead.

What's your feedback on the Cayman S? I have always liked it too... well-balanced sports car... still haven't ruled out a P-car for me eventually.

I think the facts that

1) The OP had the wrong transmission in "his" '11 Porsche

and

2) Supposedly bought his C7 from two different dealers

should be raising questions about whether or not he has ever really owned any Porsche or a C7...

Considering the OP has had only 9 posts since July I really wonder if they are a shill.
