Default Mysterious $8,005 charge on Chevy.com when building a C7

http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-st...iU1VNTUFSWSJ9@

Anyone know what that $8,005 charge is for under "options"? I've literally built like four different models all with varying options, but it always shows that $8,005 fee....for what? Nothing. And this is after the site tells you the base MSRP price for the 3LT Z51 Performance Package is $62,800....pushing the grand total to $70,000.

I understand the price has to go up from the 1LT to 2LT to 3LT, but why would they list the base MSRP at one thing, then charge you $8k over that base MSRP even without a single extra option?

There seems to be a problem with the calculation portion on the build site. I suggest you take the car price and add up the options you want separately. The dollar amounts seem to be correct but when you go from the first page to the second the price changes dramatically.

I noticed the same thing. I did the chat portion of the website and they know about it.

If you selected the 3LT interior the calculator puts the $8,005 in the base price and adds it as an option.

The 2lt is a 4k option and the 3lt is the 9k then you can add from there

Its a known issue that the website is adding the surcharge for 2LT or 3LT twice, hence the extra 4 or 8K added on. Apparently GM hired some recently unemployed Dept of HHS IT workers for their website.

I talked to Chevy customer support and they are aware of the calculation glitch in the configurator. Apparently, it adds the 2LT or 3LT price twice when choosing the option. The car is over-priced by either $4210 or $8005 when you select those trim levels. Also, no answer yet, but the site is excessively slow and locks up frequently.

The Chevrolet web page price calculating errors are discussed at great length here:

I noticed it last night. Luckily the dealer already confirmed my price so I didn't freak out.

Well, GM is owned by the Feds so do you think the same guys who did the configurator did Healthcare.gov?

Likely the other way around. GM websites were buggy long before Healthcare.gov came along.

I understand they paid the loan back in full. Is that not correct?
