After months and months of research and lots of debate between the Porsche Boxster S and C7 Corvette, today I finally pulled the trigger and ordered an Arctic White 1LT z51. Here are the options I chose on the car.

- Red brakes
- Black Wheels
- Magnetic Ride
- 6-Speed Auto (this car will be my DD)
- Jet Black Competition Sport Seats with Suede Steering wheel
- Carbon flash mirrors and spoiler

Only thing I am debating on to change my order is switching from 1LT to 2LT just to get the HUD, you guys think its worth it? Also I am a graduating college student I will be 22 when this car comes in, how high you think my insurance will be?

You paid extra for red brakes, competition seats, carbon flash mirrors and spoiler, and you didn't go LT2 interior? All the good stuff is in this package.

Other than the HUD I dont see what else the 2LT package adds that makes the interior nicer. I feel that adding the competition seats with suede steering wheel and shifter makes the interior nicer.

Just remember "ORDERED" does not mean ACCEPTED by Chevrolet...ask a dealer to show you the workbench order that shows a 2000 code - then you are really "ordered"

Right now you have put a package outside your door for UPS pickup, but the truck has not come by yet....

2LT is worth every penny IMO... that's what my order will be when the time comes.

Sounds like a really nice car, and the Boxster S is also a worthy candidate.

Can't hurt to talk to your agent so that you can anticipate what your insurance will be, and if it seems unreasonable, now is the time to shop around.

Debated on the red brakes but decided I wanted only two tone on the out side black and white.

I was 24 when I got my first Vette, my insurance was actually less than the Z-28 I traded for it. Not many young people own vette. So the rates were less as the insurance co explained to me those many years ago

Congrats brother! May as well add mine I ordered my 2lt CGM w/navigation and performance exhaust. 2LT from my understanding is fully loaded minus the upgraded leather and other cosmetic details. I think I am going to be VERY HAPPY. But I still have a while to go mine I just got the gm workbench order and im at 1100 but its from a volume dealer so I am confident.

I think you did the smart thing going to LT2. Red seats look good and make it go with red brakes.

Reason I did not go red on brakes is I did not go red interior.

To answer your insurance question, how is your driving record? I was also 22 when I purchased an 08 and was amazed that my insurance actually dropped. I called them just to make sure a mistake wasn't made. They told me because the avg age of a vette owner is older and they aren't a usual daily driver but I can be wrong and like I said things could have changed over the yrs.
