I think the brake dust problems are mainly with the Z51 cars or maybe those with black wheels.

Got mine from Adam too! It has made my detailing so much easier. This will be my first addition on each of my future vettes.

I put the Carbotechs on my 2015 Z51 at purchase. 1500 miles and minimal brake dust so far.

From what I am hearing, it seems to be affecting the Z51 Corvettes.

I have a Z51 C7 and yes lots of brake dust but I do not mind cleaning the wheels which I do after every couple of times I take the car for a drive.Just glad the pollen is gone now that was a pain in the AZZ having to clean the entire car not just the rims !

Wanted to bump this old thread and see if the Carbotech 1521 pads are still the best ones to get rid of the horrible brake dust problems on my C7 black Z51 wheels. They are a lot of $ so I want to be sure.

On my old C6 the GM pads squealed like a pig and I replaced them with Akebono and the squeal went away and I got no dust also. C7 brakes do not squeal so it is a big cost to replace them just to get rid of the dust. I want to make sure there is nothing better out there.

I have a 2015 Z51 coupe, and the original brakes DID squeal plus generated a lot of brake dust on my wheels. I put on the CarboTech 1521 pads and it eliminated the squeal and just about all of the brake dust. That constitutes a winner in my eyes!!

Yes. Factory feel and stopping power. Virtually zero dust.

That's interesting. Since the brake dust on my E350 is black, I ordered black wheels on my C7 (still sitting at Green Bay). I figured the black dust wouldn't show up as badly on black wheels. Apparently I screwed up ordering black wheels on my C7.

Z51 - black rims here....

yup.... 1000 miles and the same issue here. Not surprised, not disappointed, it's a reality. Other than swapping pads which I plan to do in the future..... What's a good rim cleaner? Spray n Rinse...

Looking at pictures of the Carbotech and compare them to the OEM, the Carbontech do not seem to have the same "weights" that are at the top of the pads that hang over the outside of the calipers, and only one of the pads per wheel seem to have the metal tab that alerts you when the pads run thin. What are those metal weights for? Heat dissipation, squeal prevention? For the $ one would think they would have similar design features to the OEM pads.

Installation looks easy, just two pins.

Carbotech does not use the weights. The weights are for noise and vibration on the OE pads.

Had my Carbotech 1521's for 8 months. Love them. I was cleaning the wheels after 2 trips to town (40 miles) now don't clean them until I wash the car. I think they stop even better when cold than the OEM pads and just as good when hot. Easy install, here is my PDF with lots of pics: http://netwelding.com/Ceramic_Pads.pdf
if you have a late 2014 or any 2015 don't worry about the two sided tape on the front pads, you don't have it. Just look at my rear pad replacement, 15 minutes!
Agree with Adam I had no noise or vibration from day 1! Had an issue with the OEM pads for several months when new.
