Torch Red-Clearcoated?
This may be a silly question but does anyone here know if the Torch Red is a base coat/clear coat? It doesn't look like it but I'm not a paint expert.
Thanks

Actually, it was a pertinent question, which deserves a good answer. Of course, GM knows what they are doing; at least we perceive it so. You can have base coat paint with the clear added in the last layer, and not as disparate layer.

You going to strip and repaint the car if you don't like the answer!
You not going to purchase the car if you don't like the answer?

Virtually all -if not all- cars carry a 2 coat base+ clear system that is standard in the industry. (yes tintcoat is another coat) - several years ago they still made a single stage paint in the industry - usually red and white...
another info bit - someone posted on here that since they were clearcoated, there was no need to polish or wax...totally wrong..clear coat is just more paint without pigment to color it, it scratches and wears just like any other paint, it's not some magical coating that is impervious to life's hazards....

I love reading some of the questions as I learn a lot. Yet there are truly some very rude people on this forum.
There is another post here with wet sanding a TR. Wow - by reading these posts ... I cant wait until the warm weather arrives - I want that done too.
