Default Gray Interior Durability

I need to finalize my C7 order tomorrow.
I am going with the Night Race Blue exterior.
I really like the contrast with the Gray interior, but am worried how it will hold up over time. It is much lighter than any of the gray interior's I have had in the past.
So for those who have had their C7's with the gray interior for a while, how is it holding up? Do regret getting such a light color?

I have an 07 which has a a bit lighter color - off white and it has held up great c7 a bit to gray for my taste so I opted for the black but should hold up fine.

FWIW, my Vettes are DDs and I figure Jet Black made more sense for that. But the Grey interior is gorgeous

I had the grey in my 07 LeMans Blue ,loved the combination and it held up vey well in the six years I had the car. Now keep in mind that it was not my daily driver but for the driving I did I did not see any deterioration . I ordered the grey to compliment my Laguna Blue Stingray ,so no hesitation on my part.

Here is a pic of my LB vert with grey interior. I had the garage door open and the sun was shining in, so the pic is a little over exposed, but not a lot. The grey is lighter than the greys in the past, but in my opinion it can be stunning depending on the color combination of the car. I have not had any problems keeping the interior clean so far, but if you are going to use it as a daily driver, you might want to swap out the grey floor mats with black ones and that will keep your weekend cleaning time down to a minimum. JMO!

I had light gray in a Porsche and Ivory in a BMW, both showed more than Black. Actually the BMW had Blue on the seat bolsters from my jeans. The only interior I will get is Black for maintenance issues as well as visual.

Thanks for all the input.
I spent most of the night thinking about it (in addition to about 3 hours looking at all the pictures I could find); and my wife says I am and with my stuff and will be far too **** with the C7 to be happy with the light gray interior - if it had black carpets (like the Kalahari and Red), I would have gone for it. So black it is.

You made the right choice IMO! I am considering the same color combo...I have really loved the black interior in my C6 and shows no sign of wear in the 5 1/2 yrs I've owned it.

Thats quite an understatement. Just look at the upper dash which is black. In this picture it is almost as gray as the seats. Go to this thread/site for more accurate C7 Gray interior pictures. They are very close, most dead on of what the Gray looks like. I have 3LT Gray in my LB C7.

I have a light grey interior on my GMC truck and it gets dirty so fast. I use my truck more like a car so it's not a work thing just a normal wear and tear thing. Never again with the light grey. In my old Silverado from 03, I had the charcoal grey interior and it held up perfect and I had 190k on it when I retired her.

I have the color combo you considered. I've had light interiors on several cars including the inserts on my 2013 Terrain. I've never had a problem. If you don't like the carpet, replacing the cheap mats with quality dark ones is simple. I find darker carpets show lint much more easily.

On a hot summer day you'll appreciate having a nice light color like gray, I love my C6s gray interior! I had a black interior in my C5 and getting into the car on a hot summer day while wearing shorts could often be painful! With gray it's not a problem.

With people talking about how dirty the grey gets because of the lightness, does the kalahari have similar issues? Especially with things like the blue from jeans rubbing off?

Sorry /threadjack

The grey interior is no harder to keep clean, ..IF you clean your interior. If you wait for your interior to show the dirt, then you have an issue. I don't understand the people that will spend a lot of time detailing the outside of the car and not clean the interior. BTW, I live in Florida and black interior is just not a great option. I also have an '04 Z06 CE with black interior and not only is it hot if it sits in the sun for a while, it takes forever for the AC to cool down the inside of the car. Heat will radiate off the black interior. But if you are not in a sunny state and black is your thing, then go for it!

This shade of gray is very light. It needs black rugs.Cause of the reflection factor (direct sun)You will need sunglasses when top is down in a vert.
