New Z06 - how many street car buyers can handle that much car?
625 / 635 - those are insane numbers. "Outside" of people who are going to track them - how many street drivers can control a vehicle with that much HP and torque?

This is a joke right? Or perhaps only being commented on by people who have never owned fast cars? There are probably hundreds of members on the board that own cars north of 800whp and still drive them almost daily, weather permitting. 600hp isnt impressive these days, its really not. A base car with a A&A or ECS blower kit on it is going to make more RWHP than this Z06.

The Z06 is way too powerful for most everyone who will buy one, with the exception of a select few. For that matter, the 'base' C7 Z51 is also more car than most can handle. Same can be said for most Porsches, Ferrari's, Camaro ZL-1's etc.
The great thing about our great country is the freedom to do and buy what we want/can afford, even if it is illogical. I can't drive my C7 at it's limit on the street or at the track, but boy, do I love it.
This is Chevrolet saying to the rest of the automotive world "The King is back ..how do you like us now?" It's good to be King.

I wonder if GM is going to send you to driving school like they did with the ZR-1?

Power that is unusable is just bragging rights. This much power on the street on street tires means you dont play with it and you better respect the hell out of it.
Can you drive it---sure.
Can you enjoy it---sure.
Can you drive it 10/10's on the street or track---Hell no. Only a select few can do that.
Me--- I think I will buy stock in tire companies..

Probably many "base" C7 owners can't handle 455 (460) either...

Well the same thing could've been said for the ZR1 too.

Hopefully very mature drivers.

Although I would not expect to track the car. As others have said you buy what you want and as long as you respect it there will be no problems. Now that I know the 8A will be in the Z06 I'll wait for it.

Time for Horsepower Control..
Mandatory background checks, including driving, criminal, and mental health records.
Public availability of your name, address, and vital info including SSAN
Auto confiscation if you violate any laws, putting you in the "not allowed to possess" category.
Limits on fuel and tire purchases, because who needs a new set of tires more than every 3 years?
If it's good enough for gun owners, it's good enough for owners of high horsepower death machines!

If your point is how many people need this much power on the road, the answer is NONE, it is all for bragging rights unless you track. Excess Power gets old fast IMO when street driving, it can actually take a lot of fun out of the car.
