Default Top speed of the C7?

Just curious if anyone has read or knows what the top speed of a C7 is? No road tests that I have read states anything about top speed. Last year, except for the Base Convertible and Grand Sport models, the top speed was posted in the brochures. Given that last years Coupe with 430 HP attained 190 MPH, I would think that the C7 with more HP and torque should exceed that. It does have the same drag coefficient (.29) and gearing. Anyone know or seen anything on this?

You should never speak of such things!!!

Here in NY I never exceed the 65 m.p.h. speed limit with
my C7

Default Eco

I agree with Brivette77. I make sure I keep my seven speed in Eco all the time so not to exceed the speed limit!!

Seems one of the most asked questions I get is "How fast you had it up to"?

Standard reply lately has been "Hit 84 on the interstate by accident, and scared me to death!"

I could be wrong, but I'd guess the top speed is about the same. That may possibly be due to increased downforce compared to the C6. I also think that if the top speed was higher than the C6 they would make sure we know about it.

There was a YT video posted somewhere here that claimed to be of a C7 hitting 204 MPH. It was a tight shot of the instrument cluster.

After having viewed it, I was convinced it was fake because it showed 56 miles on the car before the run and 56 miles after the run.

Anyway.. YMMV....

First, and I hate to do this to you guys, I am responded to this on this gorgeous 75 degree day here in So Cal. What cold weather???

Second, two members in our Vette club have hit 190+ in their new C7's. One of them is posting the video on Vimeo this weekend. We have another member who claims that with his mods his new C7 hit 201 on Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton. However, we are still waiting proof of that run.

Be safe and drive fast, faster if your driving a Vette.

Would like to see that video! 190+ would make sense in a C7 Coupe seeing that a C6 Coupe could reach 190.

I saw 190 listed as stock top speed. It is AMAZING how much additional HP it takes to cross the 200 MPH barrier.

Hennessey's car was a heads/cam 600 package with a 100 shot. It took all of that to cross the 200 barrier....Dave Golder who is the GM estimates it will take right around 650hp for the C7 to cross 200.
