Chris Warren - Les Stanford Chevrolet
My purpose in writing this forum entry is to recommend a very fine Corvette salesman and dealership that I recently had the pleasure to meet. I would certainly recommend, without hesitation, both Chris Warren and the Les Stanford Chevrolet dealership to anyone interested in buying a 2014 Corvette. Chris is far and away the best-informed Corvette sales specialist that I have encountered after visiting and contacting a number of Chevy dealerships.
I just returned home days ago(to California) after a week in Detroit during which I attended the Detroit Auto Show. It was my first time in Detroit and, in addition to the show, I also wanted to seek out some information which would help me to decide: 1) whether I will be buying either a 2014 or a 2015 model Corvette Stingray later this year... 2) whether or not I will want to buy a Z51 model with the MSRC option....and 3) if I want to buy a Corvette in the Lime Rock Green color.
I was disappointed to find out that the "product specialists" at each manufacturer's space at the auto show were not well enough informed to provide me with any information that would help me make any of these decisions. After 3 days at the show, I was about to write off the trip as a waste of money and time. However, I was supremely lucky to have a very helpful Chevrolet employee at the GM Tech Center line up a meeting for me with Chris Warren, a superb Corvette specialist salesman at the Les Stanford Chevrolet dealership in nearby Dearborn, MI. Stanford is one of the very largest Corvette dealers in this country after Kerbeck.
I really lucked out in meeting Chris because he is extremely knowledgeable about Corvettes, especially, and Chevrolets in general. He not only allowed me to take my first test drive in a 2014 Corvette, which is easier said than done, but Chris was also was very generous with his time and answered all of my many questions. It turns out that Chris is well acquainted with high-level Corvette Engineering and Marketing executives and is also well-versed in the Corvette announcement and sales cycle.
After meeting with Chris, I was so favorably impressed with him that I decided I will most likely buy a new Corvette from him later this year after I: 1) test drive a Z51 Stingray and 2) learn about the 2015 Corvette Stingray offering which will probably be announced in the April-June 2014 time frame. Les Stanford Chevy is one of the few dealerships that has a Lime Rock Green Corvette on its premises and, thanks to Chris, I was pleased to be able to see the color in person.

Ordered my 2010 CTS Wagon from Kevin Will at Les Stanford. My son ordered his 08 coupe from Rick Daniel before he left Les Stanford six years ago. LS is a first class dealership and a CF Supporting Dealer.

Nice write up and a very good dealer. But from what I've read on here, you may have some difficulty getting to "...test drive a Z51 Stingray..." in your home state. Maybe not, now that the supply is catching up on some dealer lots as long as you call rather than just show up. Then again, many dealers don't know if they have a Z51 or a Stingray, not unlike your auto show experience.

Just to add my 2 cents worth. I live in the metro Detroit area and have easy access to Dearborn and Les Stanford. The entire Corvette team at LS is first class, professional and extremely knowledgeable about all things Corvette.
Have visited them to talk about the C7 and they were generous to a fault with their time. Answered all my questions, very candid about time lines to order and deliver the car, no hype and no false expectations. When I visited them they were charging MSRP plus $100 doc fee. No other hidden costs. This was for an ordered car with my specs. Now that they have 20+ C7's on the lot their pricing strategy may be different.
Would not hesitate to buy a car from LS. What you see is what you get.

I have no idea at all whom you called at Les Stanford, or what type of message you left, but I received a prompt call back from Chris Warren when I asked for him specifically and rang through to his message machine. And he had never before met or heard from me.
I cannot vouch for anyone but Chris at Stanford because he is the only salesman with whom I dealt and he is a VERY busy salesman.
I have a strongly-held belief that you just can't beat face time in matters such as these. Given the weather and my unfamiliarity with the territory(no GPS), this poor California boy would SO much rather have been able to do my business by phone, but it was simply out of the question.
I hope you are able to visit Les Stanford Chevy and meet with Chris. I'm sure you'll be glad you did.

Good point, AORoads ! So far, I have not found any C7 demonstrator Corvettes in the San Francisco Bay Area where I live. Hence my trip to Detroit. I also haven't even found any Chevy dealers with what I regard as a significant quantity of 2014 Corvette models of any type for sale, much less the tightly-constrained Z51s. Sure, I could probably find one in the LA area which is just a short plane ride away. But I would much rather NOT buy a car down there if I have a choice. No, I would much rather fly to Detroit, test drive a Z51 and then either buy or order a car from Chris Warren at Les Stanford Chevy. That's a measure of how much I appreciated dealing with Chris Warren.

We've bought many cars from LS and can't agree more.
BTW, I think you meant Dennis Tap
Chris was the dealer rep for the Corvette Club of Michigan for many years and now it is Dennis.

I am a California car dealer and have bought at least 7 Corvettes from LS. The General Manager Scott Montgomery and Tony Aguirre sales are the best, This dealer can usually get cars no one else can.. Highly recommend..

Thank you for posting your experience with Les Standford, and giving us and the forum member’s feedback! If you would like PM us, we can put in a formal compliment and notify Chris. Just let us know!
I am sorry to hear that your Auto Show experience was lacking! Myself, Kelly and the rest of team on the forum were able to attend. It’s too bad that we didn't cross paths on the showroom floor!
