Default XM radio contract

How long do I get free XM radio on my Z51 3LT coupe? Dealer thinks it is for only 3 months, but I thought I saw on these forums that it was for 1 year for the fully loaded model.

http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-st...ms.html‎ says 3 months. I have 3LT, didn't see anything that indicated a longer window.

1 year per the online order guide for 2LT and 3LT:

U2M SiriusXM Satellite Radio and HD Radio, includes 1 year subscription of SiriusXM Satellite Radio
1 - IMPORTANT: The SiriusXM Satellite Radio trial package is not provided on vehicles that are ordered for Fleet Daily Rental ("FDR") use. If you decide to continue your service at the end of your trial subscription, the plan you choose will automatically renew and bill at then-current rates until you call 1-866-635-2349 to cancel. See SiriusXM Customer Agreement for complete terms at siriusxm.com. Other fees and taxes will apply. All fees and programming subject to change.

No, you read the specs of the 1LT. The specs for the 2LT and Z51 2LT clearly state that a SiriusXM Satellite Radio with 1-year subscription is included. The 3LT inherits all 2LT specifications. Therefore, Chevrolet lists only the additional specifications of the 3LT over the 2LT.

Cool. How long after you got your car, before you got the letter from XM? I got my vette in November, haven't heard a peep from XM yet.

Thx, good to know. I think XM just doesn't like me. They've managed to drop the NAV plan coverage on my Acura's account every year or so.

I got my letter about a month after I picked up the car.

FYI, OnStar is only good for 6-months (2LT).

I understand the one-year for 2LT and 3LT Corvettes. Are they asking for a credit card to "open your account" or any other foolishness? I ask because I got 3 free month of radio service when I bought my '08 and within three weeks I started getting phone calls to "set up" my account. They wanted my credit card info. I refused to give them any info and said I'd call them if I wanted to continue beyond the three free months.

Whatever you do, do NOT give them CC info. If and when the time comes to pay for something, have them send you an invoice and pay by check

Repeat... do NOT give SIRIUS/XM your CC info.... EVER

My window sticker lists in the 2LT package 9 extra months of XM. 4th column over and 5th # down. Head to read but you can make it out. They do NOT have my CC as I did open an account so I also get the internet version of XM too for free.

x100 Never! You will have to cancel card as they will never cancel your subscription--no matter how many times you call.

I've had XM for 10 plus years and will never give them my CC.
Its even a good thing ever couple of years or so to drop your service. They will give you 3 months free and a better rate if you ask for the Canceal department.

Just ask for the lifetime plan and be done with it.

Got a letter from Sirius yesterday saying my 6 month trial is over soon....... yea had the car 6 months soon. I got a 2LT.

Reading the sticker last night it talks about sirius for 6 months and under the 2lt option it talks about XM out to a year.

IS sirius and XM the same???? Certainly a different description on the window sticker???

I've not called Sirius yet but wondering.........???

Also does anyone know if there is a multicar discount?

I think the lifetime offer is not availalbe anymore........

Lastly I am wondering with panadora and the bluetooth deal why I even want Sirius? Even traffic and weather can be done on the phone.......... What does Sirius do for you that you cannot get free?????

Yes, it is the same, they merged and there's just mixing of terms. They are now just "SiruisXM".

There is, but it essentially would equal the $77-$85/yr deal that everyone can get if you call to cancel, even on the primary car. I just get them to apply the best promo deal for a 1 year term. Yes, it can be had cheaper on the 2-5 month plans, but then you have to call India/The Philippines/Malaysia so often and it's not worth the blood pressure increase to save a couple extra dollars over a year to me.

They say that they cancelled it, but others keep saying they have gotten it. Problem to me is that it is attached to the radio with no transfer. If there was a "Lifetime Member" subscription that I could apply to any given radio as I need I would be more interested.

I like it because at times I like listening to live content. Music will be better over the phone with something like Google music which doesn't re-compress your music, but I like live talk shows sometimes too.

As mentioned above, never give them your CC card. I gladly pay the $2 invoice fee for a paper bill. They once billed my card for a few hundred dollars and it was like pulling teeth to get it back.
