The new 2014 V8 ? or is it a 4 cylinder?
I test drove a 1LT at my local dealership and wasn't very impressed with the feel and sound. I decided I needed the performance exhaust package after the test drive. Then a neighbor showed me her new C7 with the performance exhaust. I wasn't that impressed with the sound I surely expected.
GM engineers keep claiming that us buyers don't want a smaller power plant in our corvettes. Well, that's just what they gave us. Most drivers are going to drive around under low load conditions. I include myself in this group because I mostly abide by the speed limits and I wont be racing anytime. This means I will be driving in 4 cylinder mode. Yeah, it also sounds like a 4 cylinder when you are only using 4 cylinders.
I'D RATHER HAVE THE GM 3.6 LITER 6 CYLINDER 323 HP ENGINE. The bare engine weighs 205 lbs less. It uses regular gasoline. I have to believe the tranny weighs a lot less too. Better gas mileage and better sound with glass packs. Yeah....my wifes 2013 Camaro sounds great with this set up. The 323 hp engine would give me plenty of power. A little less than my stock C5, but quite a bit more than my 190 hp C3. My C3 had no shortage of power for my driving.

I think you're on crack. Seriously.

What a farce, the 3.6 L engine you refer to is usually considered a bit harsh and buzzy, low on torque and not smooth like its V-8 competition. Not even in the same planet performance wise as the LT1.
Every road test raves about the C7 but you dismiss it. Certifiable troll. Don

Very interesting first post. I think it is safe to say that everybody on here disagrees with you. If that's your opinion, I would advise against the purchase of a C7.

To each his own. I got mine and you can have what ever you what. If you what a V6, then get a v6. You wouldn't be getting a Corvette. If I don't what to go into 4 cylinder mode, then I keep it in 8 (out of ECO mode).

Perhaps the OP doesn't know he can operate the car and never have AFM activate. If it's a manual trans car, as long as you don't put it in eco driving mode, it never activates. If it's an auto trans car, in sport/manual shift mode it never activates. Thus the engine is always operating as a V8.
And if you simply want a heartier exhaust note for the V8 - the aftermarket will set you right up.
