Default 1st Supercharged Hennessey C7 - DONE

Dropped the car off last Thursday afternoon, and got a call saying it was done today...go pick up tomorrow! Woohoo

ECS Novi 1500
Kooks Coated Headers

Officially touted as a HPE650 but was a little over that.

He said the drivability is perfect...guy I dealt with didn't know final numbers off the dyno, but they are dynoing for me when I get there tomorrow.

Pics to follow...

Congrats, looks like you will be the first of many from them. Let us know your driving impressions when you get it back!

Thanks again!

Nice. That was a bit quicker than I thought you'd get it. We need some sound clips of the car though.

Remember, pics or ban. And don't forget to get out of the car once in a while to sit down at the computer and write a report for us.

Cheers.

Got the car back. Hennessey is pretty conservative because of their liability, and warranty they put on their cars. More interested in reliability. That said, the numbers were ok...I mean I could have taken it to another shop and probably gotten 600whp out of it, but then would have been on my own.

Car made 571/540 - 7psi - 7sp manual Z51

Drivability is good...it idles like stock. I put headers on the car so with baffles off it is noticeably louder, however thanks to NPP I can turn on and sounds like stock again. Low end torque is pretty explosive, and mid/high end is a good strong pull. I am used to powerful cars, so I am a little biased. Definitely a 10 sec 1/4 car, but not bottom 10 like I would have hoped.

Intercooler/air induction sounds kind of like an FI blower (a bit gravelly) which kind of surprised me a bit ( louder than I thought).

Hennessey's guys put quite a few miles on the car which I am not particularly happy about, but overall the product, and initial assessment is good.

Sounds as if you're a little disappointed. A new Z06(at 625 est HP and it might be a tad higher than that at it's release) would put about 550 to the rear wheels and would have a fully forged engine with a full warranty for 5 years/100,000.

I'm not bashing you, but pointing out some things others might consider if looking at doing the same with their LT1.

I posted factual info on drivability...am I a little disappointed with the numbers, yes. But I know why that is, and I chose to go that way due to them backing up their work where other shops won't.

Me personally, I would take 571 rwhp with a warranty and peace of mind in a heart beat over 600 rwhp. But that's just me.

OP, you sound fairly disappointed in your results. Sounds like you were aiming for over 600 HP for the money you spent.

How many miles did they put on the car?

Then again, my C6 had about 600 RWHP with Zero issues. With the LT1 being a new engine, I've decided not to FI it and just wait for the new Z06. I found out that once I start modding I can't stop and by the time I'm all done I'd prob. have $30k in to it so why not just buy a z06? LOL

They are out in the sticks, so realize they need to put miles on, but around 150. They said was their first time to use this blower so needed to drive more to make sure all was good. Excessive, but I can live with it.

My goal was 600whp especially considering I put a pair of kooks headers on too. But again, I like reliable...again, it's ok.

The setup is clean, and was very well engineered. Most definitely would recommend Doug at ECS, as their service and demeanor were superior. The blower is awesome...only down is the noisy intake of air...sounds like my friends F1 blower.

Hennessey has been professional, and they got my car out fast. I would recommend them, just a few small issues there.

Wow, 150 miles? While I understand it's their first kit that they installed, I would think the a shop would tell a customer that they would be driving that many miles! I'd be quite upset if they didn't tell me at first.

Cheer up a little! You still have a beast on your hands! Maybe you can convince them to up your RWHP a little and still maintain the reliability and warranty.
