Default Sold Porsche -Bought Stingray z51-lt3

Never been a corvette fan but now one. I've had the Stingray for about a month and just love it! Love the sound, handling, interior and the sexiest back end on a sports car I've ever seen.

Amazed at the price compared to my Porsche. Now looking to mod it up and make it mine and custom. Anyone buy any of the mods available?

Going to tint windows next. What an awesome car.

Yeah Porsche's have an iconic look. Truth be told, they are homely looking things( I bought a 996TT that I drove for 5 years. Replaced it with an 08Z that was sexy looking and was/is just as good a machine and then some). From now on I'll be taking the pretty girl to the dance, not something that looks like it has had it's rear shaven and made to travel in reverse.

Sometimes that homely girl can do a lot more than dance. I love Corvettes and Porsches. Nothing wrong with that.

911's are amazing cars. What I've learned after owning several is how much do you use it vs cost. Having two cars in the garage for myself it's almost $200K worth of metal ($135K 911 4S and $55K Jeep GC Overland). I would have never bought a Corvette until this year. Now I can have an amazing car (C7) keep SUV, and put the other $60K to other toys.

C7 is converting a lot of 911 buyers (whether they admit it or not)

I'm right there with you, man. Sold my 2011 Aston Martin Vantage v8 for a Corvette Stingray. Tons more looks and a much better car all around.

I am keeping both my 911's ('05 997S and '87 Carrera 3.2) but am enjoying my C7, too. I am still in the break-in period so I've not driven it hard yet, but I am looking forward to that.

I was so close to buying a 997.1 Twin Turbo. I have never owned a Porsche or a Corvette. I have always been a BMW guy. The twin turbo was great but I really felt the interior was a bit cheap. I also don't like the idea of learning how to drive all over again with the lump behind the wheels.

I am also very proud to support my country and buy an American Car that in my mind is one of the best produced.

I sold my 09 c4s 911 with PDK because I wanted to get in a manual. Have 1300 miles on my C7 MT, z51,MRC,NPP. Did one car control clinic with Porsche club after 1K miles in the pouring rain.

Fortunate to be keeping my 2007 911 GT3 for tracking. Roll bar, 6pt schroth, Hans

Quite a big difference in clutch effort between the two for sure.

As you can see from my sig had a 08 z06. If it was auto would still have it but where moved to started to hate the manual. Where lived previously would only have bought manual sports cars.

Got SL55 first as wanted a vert with retractible roof, prefer those to ragtops. Then few months ago picked up my 2007 911 turbo. Sorry but I think it looks great . Fact think it and my SL55 are both gorgeous cars. They are super cars in every category I can think of . Ride, handling, braking, performance, interior and exterior quality.
They can be pricey for repairs and maintenance. I have extended warranty on the 911 turbo but no warranty on the SL55. Both are low mileage cars the SL55 has 30,000 miles the 911 turbo has only 13,000 miles.
I am a car guy and mostly a domestic guy in past although do have a soft spot for eagle talon turbo all wheel drive cars.
I see nothing wrong with liking Porche, Mercedes,Viper ,Corvette , Ferrari ,etc .
I do think a 911 turbo at new price is crazy. But paid 70 for mine so not so bad.

I also don't like paying new price for any car. I bought my 08 z06 couple years old and saved like 40k over new price. I plan to add a c7 z06 to stable in couple of years and maybe a Viper as well. If won lotto would have some more exotic toys.. an R8, GTR, Ferrari, lambo. Cars depreciate heavily first few years . Pretty much any car. So you can get more bang for the buck but buying low mileage ones used and often can buy warranty for reasonable additional amount of money.

Here is pic of my 911 turbo. As said I really do think its a nice looking car.

Here is pic of SL55.

I do miss my 08 Z a lot though.

And yeah kind of into silver lately...LOL

But its all personal taste of course. I really really loved the looks of my 08 z06 and love the looks of the new c7 and c7 z06. Well except for the fender spats on the z06. And maybe would paint the lower rear valance body color. I also love Vipers especially third, fourth and fifth generation. And being half Italian love Ferrari,Lambos.
I am a car guy.
