No Nav + iPhone = no problem
This may be old news:
I was streaming music on my iPhone via Bluetooth that I was also using for turn by turn guidance (I do not have the Nav option on my c7) when a voice popped in over the music giving me turn by turn guidance. While there were no visual maps on the C7 head unit, but the audio guidance was a very suitable substitute!
I switched over to my iPod and XM radio and the guidance went away, so it seems to only work while connected to the iPhone via Bluetooth.

Please educate me as I' am Illiterate when it comes to this. My phone is programmed to the car. How can I get the voice turn by turn through the car? I understand the part about not having navigation and not seeing the map( that much I know)
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

To each his own. I personally am a very visual person, I need to "see" where I'm going or I get loss.

This is great news as I did not get nav in my C7.
My DD is a 2010 GMC Sierra which I got nav in and NEVER use because Google Maps is way better IMHO.
Question...you are all talking about the audio portion on the nav coming through the radio, is the map still displayed on the phone when this is happening?
Thanks,
Mark

Yes, the phone performs like normal with the map, but the voice prompts come over the car audio system. But you must have the phone "bluetooth" selected as your media source...it will not "break in" if you have XM or your iPod selected.

I was using the stock itunes/apple "map app"...so interesting that it works from multiple map apps. Makes me hopeful that some day a nav app might actually sink visually as well.

I am a very visual person as well (designer by trade) but the NAV was the only option this car didn't have BUT it had everything else I wanted, so I decided I could live with out...now I can even more.

Melting Slicks
You can press the mic icon on the home screen and use Siri as well for directions, if you are listening to streaming bluetooth the directions mute the music. Dont even have to touch the phone, just use siri.
