I have for years. Actually, I was (for a short time many years ago) their distributor in South America.
Pros: It works really well. It picks up dust and does the job.
Cons: The fibers are embedded with a kind of wax to pick up the dust. The wax can (particularly with a new one), leave a residue that actually attracts MORE dust.
The best ones are the ones with wooden handles. Their are cheaper ones with plastic.
My suggestion is to not use a knock off. These guys do make the best one of their class. It's not a great tool for cleaning a car but it is great for a quick touch up on a dusty or windy day.
Leave it always in the sleeve. If you don't, the wax may leech out slowly over time into fabrics.
My feeling is... they actually get better with age. Just shake out the dust far away from the car and put it back in the sleeve.

Cheaper knock off versions just spray on some kind of silicone or oil on the fibers. This wears off or evaporates over time.
The process Cal duster uses is unique in the way they get the wax to fuse with the yarn fibers. So, it lasts longer without drying out.
Drying out is a problem because if you wipe a dusty car with a dry rag, it will make tiny scratches and dull the surface.

I've used one for years. Great for removing a layer of dust, but don't use if the car is actually dirty, not just dusty. It just takes a very light motion over the surface.

I've used both the small and large versions of the California Duster for years. Both work great for a quick touchup.

Have a large one for my Street Rod I use at shows and have a mini on a peg on the wall between garage doors to clean only the rear of the Vette. The remainder of the car stays clean, or if dirty I wash it, but the rear gets dirty evrytime I drive it. I only use a very light touch and it takes most dirt away.

Melting Slicks
I have had one since my first C6 Vette in 2006.
I use it every time after a drive, simple to use, and it gently takes most of the dust off quickly.

I used one on my C6 without issues, but it scratched the heck out of my C7. The clearcoat on the C7, at least mine, is very susceptible to micro scratches.

Burning Brakes
Living on a ranch, I use mine daily. No where, including under a car cover (or in the house) is safe from the amount of dust here.
I was just getting ready to wash one of the heads. As I'm hearing about wax fibers, I'm guessing maybe that isn't a good idea?

Max is an avid fan of The Original California Car Duster, so he was thrilled to be able to answer a few questions about this remarkable product:
Q: I have tried everything to remove dust from my car, but it takes so long and all I end up doing is just moving the dust around. Does this product really work different than others I have tried?
Max: Once you try this duster for the first time, you will never purchase another dusting rag or chemical cleaner again. The process couldn’t get an easier.
Simply run the mophead over the surface and you are finished. Shake it out and its ready to go again!
Q: Doesn’t California Car Duster Company make a bunch of products like the Original?
Max: They sure do. This product was such a hit, that they soon developed different sizes of dusters to take care of both indoor and outdoor needs. These products include The Mini Dash Duster and The Super Floor Duster.
Q: Is the handle really comfortable to hold?
Max: It is one of the features that makes cleaning a joy rather than a task. It is a classy wood handle that fits comfortably in your hand. There is no pressure or stress from holding it.
