Default So.....how's the C7 clutch?

Perfect?

Any clatter / chatter / shudder?

More Corvette'y than other spors-car clutches?

Only 430 miles on her but I have no issues with the clutch at all. Smooth, predictable and no excessive force needed to depress the pedal.

In some ways, smoother than my wife's ZO6

What Ken said

I find the MT to be very well done. Minimal vibration, smooth, linear, short throw, a EASY to drive. Very happy with mine and it will only get better as it breaks in

Well.. I gotta disagree about the short throw part. It seem pretty damn long to me

Well, it's shorter than anything I've driven in a while... My E92 M3 and my E36 M3 track car.

I guess that "short" is subjective.

Probably so! Guess Ive gotten used to my wife's ZO6 short throw (I forget which one but it does have other than factory shifter on it) while I've been driving it since I sold my C6 last November

But the C7's throw seems VERY long to me now.....

I would say its not short, but not real long either.

I would like it a little shorter

I hated my 07'Z's clutch. Way too light, not progressive, and would smell if you slipped it a WEE bit. I already know my C7's clutch is much better

My Clutch has been great, until three hours ago.

Odometer just turned 900 Miles, while shifting into 3rd, the Pedal went to the Floor and then a little more. It never came back up.

No trouble lights. Got the Car in Neutral when I pulled over. It starts when I hit the Button, but no Clutch Pedal, no go C7.

Called my new friends at OnStar. The Car got towed to the Dealer where it sits in the Service Lane waiting to be mended. Nice surprise for the Service Writers when they arrive in the Morning.

All in all, a wonderful evening for Second Vette.
Hoping tomorrow won't be a whole lot worse after I talk to the Dealer.

Yes, IMO almost perfect so far. We had a few days of 40 degree mornings and it did get slightly notch at first but otherwise by absolutely the best I've had.

In '08 Z06, you also describe it perfectly (clatter / chatter / shudder) if the revs weren't up a little bit and you got complacent.

Just over 3K miles and I would say the M7 is better than my C6 was, better than our 911 is, but not as good as my S2000 was.

Never had an issue with the clutch in my C6 but I felt the shifter was sloppy. I put in the MGW shifter for short, quick throws. It will be interesting to evaluated my C7 shifter and clutch in a couple weeks.

2000 miles on my vert and the clutch is fine. The stock shifter throw is shorter than the throw on my stock shifter on my '04 Z06 CE. Not sure it is fair to compare the throw of the stock shifter to an aftermarket short throw shifter. JMO.

What I want to know before I'd order a manual trans is the clutch setup the same as the C6, in other words is it still allowing all the clutch dust to get into the fluid? That was the worst design I have ever seen and its unbelieveable that GM would design a system like that.

All 5 of my C6 manuals had filthy clutch fluids even after a short period. Its a pain to have to try the ranger method after each drive!

So what is the C7 manual trans design?

Can't tell you anything about the clutch fluid, must be there as the clutch operates. The C7 clutch is smooth but seems to take hold more aggressively than my C6 did. I have stalled the engine quite a bit getting use to it.

Really? I find it as easy as any I've ever driven.
