Default Corvettes and the better half

I just recently broke up with my girlfriend, because of my new Stingray.
Supposedly, she thinks I won't be able to wine and dine her as she deserves. She is right, because I can not afford her and the Corvette. Corvette stays....goodbye Leigh!

How does your better half react to your having a Corvette?

Evidently, in your world, the Corvette is the better half.

My wife is totally stoked about the new C7 we have on order. After 21 years of marriage and 52 cars later, she is used to my car additiction.

Initially I thought you were an idiot for losing a woman over a car, but based on your name, "Supersonic 427" can I assume this was not your first corvette? If so, I'm not sure what her deal was if you had one already. My wife is fine with it, but then again she is comfortable in her own skin and does not feel the need to compete with a car...that and she knows it makes me happy (and she too is used to my car addiction).

Just fine... now that I bought her a new Lexus.

Seriously, if a girl breaks up with you for this, consider yourself lucky.

And if someone chooses a car over their true love, they're a..... well it rhymes with "boron".

Just fine. She has her 2013 X3. I have "my" cars. I do cover her gas and insurance though.

This was a fairly new relationship with a woman that was very attractive on the outside, but ugly as hell on the inside. It would not have lasted, Corvette or no Corvette. Trouble is, we fall for the looks. It ain't all about the looks! I met her on one of the dating sites....And I was a "moron" for staying with her as long as I did! The Corvette made the break up easy.

Wife of 37 years suggested I buy it. She loves riding in it, but more driving it herself.

You did the right thing.....

Some halves are fruitcakes when it comes to your finances. If you're not married to 'em, WGAS?

Unless you're married to 'em, they can either pony-up some date money if they're so unhappy, or, conversely, consider ditching the *****.

The new Corvette, stays!

28 yrs ago I mentioned to the future Mrs that I would always have special cars and motorcycles. Her reply.......as long as I could write the check to pay for them that was alright by her.

Wife has ZO6. She was almost more thrilled about me buying a C7 than I.

I had a Corvette in 1970 when I met my wife. She loved it. 30 years later she talked me into getting my second Corvette, a 2000. Since then we have had 6 more and she "approved" of every one. I can't imagine dating, or being married to, a girl that didn't understand about and love performance cars.

My wife was the one that suggested I put a deposit on a C7.
