Default A little help before I do something stupid

Bought a red push button ignition switch for my C7 but before I do something stupid how do I get the stock one out ? The new one appears to snap in but not allow it to be pulled back out. Assuming OEM one the same not sure how to remove it. Can anyone help ?

I could be wrong but I have a feeling you may need to pull the dash out to get it out safely. I wish I would have paid attention to that part when I did my dash swap so I could give better advice.

You may be right. On the parts company web site who sold it to me it
says "simply remove your existing button" but provides no instructions
...which alone should have been a red flag I guess.

I may be able to give you an answer shortly. There is a C7 at my buddies shop getting a bunch of Apsis stuff installed including the Apsis CF dash. I may be swinging by there in a little bit. If I do, I will take a look at the starter button and see if it's removable from the front. While it may snap in through the front, you would need a pocket knife or something thin but sturdy to pry it out. I am waiting for them to call me back as they were waiting on one small piece to arrive from Apsis before they install the dash. If I make it over there today, I will update you in about 2-3 hours.

No wiring necessary...its a plug in type switch.

Ok, the button can be popped out but you will need to access the back of the button. Remove the lower panel that covers the underside of the steering column. Once you have that out, you will be able to access the back of the button to remove the plug & from there you should be able to push the button out of the dash.
