Default Black Z51 rims and brake dust

Is it me or do I notice it more now that I have black wheels but the brake dust on the c7 is much greater than my c6.... at just driving 20 miles I noticed a decent amount of dust on the rims....

so my question is I like to use a duster and keep up with keeping the dust off the car when I do drive it on a nice day and will dust it periodically during the time I have it out to keep it looking nice and shiny from the road dust.

For the rims, I used a microfiber towel clean to dust the rims but then started to think that with the black and brake dust it may cause them to see scratches since they are black.... maybe use a quick detailer spray first but still would be afraid of scratches on the black.... anyone have recommendations between washes to dust the rims without scratching them?

Google Cquartz or Opti Coat 2.0....

Or the cheaper way is a polymer sealant....like nufinish or Rejex....

All of them make brake dust hose off.....

I went the polymer sealant route and it's been working very well.

Also, I've been using AMMO Plum Wheel Spray to attack the brake dust prior to going at them with soap and microfiber. It helps dissolve the dust particles and helps lift them away safely.

The key thing is to remember to treat your wheel's finish as you would your body's paint.

I opti coated my wheels, but still find I need to manually clean them. During washes, I'm using car wash and a microfiber wheel tool from Advance auto.
You could try using a clear coat safe wheel cleaner, let it soak, then hose off. That is what I'm planning to try next.

Black wheels are as hard to care for as are black cars...
I had the same dusting problem on my C6 Grand Sport. Solved it by swapping pads to Hawk ceramics. A good solution for cars that aren't tracked, at least.

(Non-Z51 cars, BTW, have almost zero brake dust.)

Switch to Carbotech brake pads, they give off a lot less brake dust. When I had my wheels off I also used Rejex on them.

Dust gets on silver Z51 rims also...no difference.

Put some rejex and you'll have minimal dust at best. Cheaper than changing pads.

I don't have any more brake dust on my C7 Z51 w/black wheels than I had on my C6 ZO6 with chrome wheels.

Another characteristic that makes Carbotech Ceramic materials attractive is the absence of noticeable dust. All brake pads produce dust as they wear. Carbotech-Ceramic compound ingredients produce a light colored dust that is much less noticeable and less likely to stick to the wheels. On that same note, all Carbotech compounds produce a 100% non-corrosive dust that can usually be rinsed off with a hose.

I've got to add that I've used Carbotech pads on several vehicles and just put their pads on my Raptor. AX6 on the front and 1521 on the rear. The AX6's dust is worse than my Grand Sport but holy crap do they stop the 6,000lb truck fast. Very little dust from the 1521's. But if you want the best wheel cleaner ever that is safe for painted wheels Carbotech's wheel cleaner is the best and I never knew about it until now. Just spray the wheels, leave on for a minute then hose off and they are just about spotless without scrubbing at all!

I had my car recently coated with Gtechniq products by my detailer including the wheels and calipers.
While it's not exactly scientific, I picked up the car last Weds, drove it probably 4-5 days and a few hundred miles and this morning, the wheels still actually looked pretty good. Before this, after a day or two of driving, I found myself washing the wheels and blow drying them. The calipers also look as if there is no brake dust on them.
