Never could understand the need for a spare tire in modern cars. Do any cars come with any other spare parts like a starter or alternator.

Well how about an air compressor ??? I have a 2005 Bonneville GXP daily driver that has a compressor built in and located in the trunk !!! My old 1990 bonneville SSE also had one !!! Or get a portable one or have AAA do it if you get stuck ! Plus you have roadside assistance 24-7 !!! Ye Ha !!! Wayne

No! Spares are for sissies! So are run-flats! It takes a real man to whip out some Green Slime.

There's just no room in a C7 for a spare, and it would be heavy. My 2006 S2000 had a compact spare in a neat little compartment to one side of the convertible top space. When I traded it for the S2000 CR (Club Racer) version, they just omitted the spare, leaving that compartment empty, and put a tire repair kit at the bottom of the trunk, saving probably 20 pounds. It also had a rear wing, leading some to say that CR really stood for Club Ricer.

A lot of people think this is all you need instead of run-flats, and they could be right, since any tire gash too big for fix-a-flat to plug would probably make a run-flat unsafe to drive. Personally I'll stick with run-flats on my C6, since they've come in very handy a few times.

ive had about 7-8 flat tires in my life--never i a convenient time or location. ive had zero starters or alternators blow.

You are right and if stay away from new construction and roofing jobs you could probably cut that in half !!! Wayne
