NPP Sound Disappointment - Advice Please
I now finally have my Stingray with the NPP exhaust. I also still have my 2011 Grand Sport with the NPP exhaust that I have equipped with the Mild to Wild system, which I love. The trouble is that the C6 with the wild option on is still much louder than my C7 with the Sport or the Track option on. How can I get my C7 to be as loud as my C6? I am disappointed in the loudness of the C7. It sounds great at start-up and at full throttle but is too quiet for me at low RPMs during daily driving even on these two modes (Sport and Track). How can I make it louder all the time?

Yep I have that setting already but it is still not as loud as my C6. Could it be all the sound baffling that is in the C7 as opposed to the C6? When I took the Factory Tour, they showed us all the sound baffling installed in the C7 versus the C6 that did not have it.

I think the valves still close under certain conditions - low RPM with load (or maybe just a certain RPM range) - that could create drone. There is a thread (in Tech/Performance maybe) that discusses pulling a fuse. I just shift gears to keep the revs up.

You may want to check that they open all the way. I had an issue where the baffle connector clip on the right side was not properly seated. The dealership rerouted the wire to get the connector to seat properly. Now they work as intended.
BTW, in track mode they're open at all times.

I feel bad for the OP and others in a similar position.
I was gonna order NPP, but then I read posts like this. The urge to over-engineer led Chevy to tie the NPP into the car's electronics. That's why I'm going aftermarket. The driver controls the sound via throttle or a simple mild-to-wild switch. But I guess that's too simple for Chevy.

Candyvette,
Do you have an A6? If so, it is the active fuel management (AFM) turning off 4 cylinders. There's a separate message thread addressing this issue. When you are in D, the AFM can turn off 4 cylinders even if you have the exhaust wide open. This makes it sound very quiet. It doesn't matter what mode you are in with the A6. AFM can kick in on any mode (usually when you stop accelerating). The only way to defeat AFM is to put the car in M and use the paddles.
If you have an M7, apparently AFM only does this in Economy mode. Wish that was the case for the A6!
I do think all of the insulation makes it quieter too. I was like you with Mild to Wild in my C6. Miss the aggressive sound all the time!

I love it sometimes, but glad we have the option to quite it down some times.
I thought I was gonna have to go M2W like I did for my C6, but the C7 via the ***, allows me to get just the right sound I want from Sport to Touring.

I have an A6 w/NPP and here's what I did. Set the Sound Mgt to "OFF". Jacked the rear up slightly and disconnected the wiring to each muffler (eliminates pulling fuses). The AFM system is controlled by the ECM and will still go into 4cyl operation while coasting. Except for sound, it is seamless. BTW, with only about 550 miles and a very heavy right foot, I'm seeing 19+ mpg on a couple of fill ups.

Setting Engine Sound Management to "off" makes the exhaust loud when we want it to be, and less loud when we don't necessarily want it to be, which is cruising at low speeds. If I want the exhaust to be louder when cruising at low speeds all I have to do is hit the paddle to downshift. So we actually have the best of both worlds.

I feel overly loud exhaust is a cry for attention. It's completely unnecessary other than just for the sake of being loud; an homage to being a 16 year old that wants to show off they have a driver's license.
I like having the option to not being obnoxious.

i feel sort of the same as the OP. I don't want anything obnoxious but even in sport mode after the initial start up the exhaust is just a bit too quiet for me.
