Why did Chevy not put Z51 on car, but they put Z71 on truck?

Hi Bill,
When I saw your thread, I knew that some of the regular Z51 bashers would jump in.
The honest answer is probably that MOST Z51 owners prefer the "cleaner" look of less emblems, at least that is what this forum reflects. I also have a Z51 and would be happy either way.
If you want your car to clearly "say" that it is a Z51 you could buy the accessory Z51 wheel centers offered by Chevrolet. They are offered in two colors, are subtle and are OEM parts. When you eventually sell your car, the new owner could swap them back if desired.

There was no CORVETTE lettering on the rear of the Car and he said it came that way from the Factory.
He also changed the Door Sills to the Stingray ones. When I asked him why, he told me he didn't want people to know the Car was a Corvette. To him, it was a Stingray, period.
To each his own.

I met a guy who bought a C7 Coupe the first week they came out.

We know the CORVETTE is stamped on both the Wheels and Calipers, but I guess the Audience he was looking for (people who can't recognize the C7 by the Body Style), wouldn't be looking that closely.
I still don't get it, but like I said, to each his own.
