Stopping coupe roof rattles???
Anyone have a quick fix for stopping the small roof rattles on their coupes? Any products or adjustments that can be made? Its not too bad but would rather not have it at all...

if it is the seals/weatherstripping: the solution that worked for me on my BMWs was a bit of dawn and water on a rag. people use a variety of different treatments, but I found the dawn/water treatment to work great.

There are some adjustments that can be made to the roof. Whether they will stop all the rattles, I can't answer. That said, I don't have any rattles with mine.
As for the adjustments, you would need to remove the inside cover that spans between the B-Pillars along with the B-pillar inside covers. Once removed you will see the receiver for the rear roof alignment pins. There are two bolts on the face of each receiver noted with arrows in the picture below. If you loosen those two bolts slighly, and lower the receiver slightly, this will tighten the roofs contact with the rear most rubber seal. Keep in mind that if you loosen those two bolts too much, the receiver will drop to the lowest position and you will need to realign it with the roof on. I would loosen the bolts just enough to allow you to push it down slightly. You can also loosen it with the roof in place and push down hard on one side of the roof while you loosen and then tighten the receiver on that side so as to not allow it to move too much. You will need to do this one side at a time.

Mine rattles on the front ( windshield ) side. I will try the dish soap and see how that goes.
I notice weather plays a roll. It never happened while it was cooler out. Now that it's 80 or so I noticed that's when it began.

There is a Service Bulletin for C6 Coupes regarding use of silicone grease for lubrication of the removable tops. I will look for it this evening and post if I can find it. It was very specific about where to apply the silicone grease. I did my 2009 last summer and it is still quiet. GM recommended PTFE sold under the brand name of Super Lube for a few months, but that did not last long. They changed the Service Bulletin to once again recommend silicone grease including the GM part number. It is a small tube, but lasts a long time.

Ive pulled off my roof over 25 times and there is zero rattle, maybe you should take it to the dealership for service?

I've had mine off a bunch too and no noise at all. It will drive me NUTS if it starts to rattle... I absolutely HATE rattles!!

Well, if that's the case then just remove the roof and clean the rubber seal really well and apply Gummipledge or similar lubricant. That will completely stop the sound IMO. My roof had some creaking after the first time I removed it... I did this and nothing since.

I was really, really hoping they fixed this issue on the C7 since it was fairly prevalent on C6 targas. Was hoping even more so since the new Z will not be a fixed roof coupe like previous (really liked the fact my roof on my Z and ZR made zero noise; can't say the same for my GS).
This is disappointing to say the least.
Hopefully as folks get more miles on the 7 it will prove to be a rare issue.
OP - if you a have good dealership service dept, take it to them and get them focused on it.
