Request for C7 owners (coupe)
Crutchfield has a nice write-up on the C6 where they tell you the minimum height under the targa as stored in the trunk. There is no such measurement for a C7 yet.
Can anyone move a carboard box in the trunk under the targa and say how tall it can be before it hits the targa? Based on C6 measurements one could theoretically fit a 9" high by 42" wide by 35" deep box under the roof.

Compared to the C6 Coupe, the trunk area is bigger in size (l x w), but lower in height.

Update - Attached is a photo with the roof stored.
by my measurements, the back underside is 6.25" high and the front is 6.875". The 35" (front to rear) x 42" (side to side) is right.

I don't know but I do know that my wife, who is Italian, has a suitcase that you could fit a body into it and it along with my duffle bag, my cleaning bucket and supplies, a case of beer, 6 bottles of wine, a 1.5 liter bottle of Jack Daniels, 3 hats, 2 pair of sneakers, medium cooler filled with 12 water bottles, bag with snacks and my wife's and my jackets. So the Stingray is the same as my C6 coupe....so I have no problem with the luggage area.

15 cu ft vs 22 cu ft
Well I can't imagine there would be an increase in any of the measurements from the C6 since the overall trunk shrunk by 7 cu ft. The C6 was 22 cu ft and C7 is 15 cu ft.
PS....the damn cargo netting is even smaller. I can't fit as many groceries in my C7 as I did my C6.....LOL

I read somewhere (sorry, no link) that part of the decrease was in how the trunk volume is measured. Do you find your C6 actually had 50% more volume?

Maybe not 50% but...
It doesn't feel like a 50% reduction, but I used to be able to fit 2 sets of golf clubs, and a pull cart. Now I can barely fit 2 sets of clubs. Not a scientific measurement but certainly a noticeable reduction. It's still a good size trunk for a 2 seater sports car. We just did a road trip from AZ to SD and I stuffed it with a huge suitcase, a large overnight bag, a medium sized duffle bag and some miscellaneous stuff and it worked out fine. No room for the wife to buy stuff.....

You are absolutely correct, I do not know where the first person came up with his measurments, unless he measured with out the roof in the trunk.

We had our Golden Retriever and our bags in the back of our C6 on a long trip. That will not work on our C7, unless I have my dogs legs cut down. So either no dog on the trip or we take the BMW
