Question for those that bought the CAGS eliminator
Did you try driving the car first? I was going to order one as soon as I got home with my car but after driving almost 1,000 miles to get home and never had the CAGS engage and let my neighbor drive it for over 60 miles without the CAGS light and then I spent about 15 to 20 minuted driving around my neighborhood trying to get the CAGS to come on I gave up.
Has anyone had the CAGS come on at all or often enough for it to become a PITA?
EDIT
I am happy that the light as never come on but I can't help wondering what the heck do you have to do to get the thing to come on?

EDIT#2
This question applies to C7s only. I have read that the new C7s are not as bad as the C6s and older generations

I just wanted to see it work once, I accelerated slowly, then quickly I shifted at all kinds of different speeds and never got to work

I bought a CAGS eliminator but haven't installed it yet as CAGS has only activated once or twice on me in 3600 miles.
I may sell it

Mine was coming on 4 - 5 times a week. It is inconsistent when it comes on but is a PITA when it does. I installed the cags a couple of weeks ago and no problems since.

Maybe it has something to do with traffic conditions where you live. I live in an area where the is almost not traffic and I can shift at whatever speed I feel like but I honestly had to try every thing I could think of to get the CAGS to come on and I couldn't.

That was the first thing I changed on my C5 and it'll be the first change on the C7. I just don't want the car deciding what gear I can shift into .. that's why I got the manual transmission, don't need the stupid car doing my thinking for me.

DO you have a C7? your profile shows that you own a 2005. Did you get a new car without upgrading your profile? I have read the the new C7s are not as bad or sensitive as the C6s

If you want it to kick in, simply try shifting from 1st to second at or below 1500 RPM. If you shift at anything over 1700 RPM. CAGS will not engage.

Safety Car
My experience EXACTLY. Easy to install and it's a pleasure to look / admire the underside of the C7.

That is the problem, it doesn't come on often and when it does you're surprised! This is what happened to me and I have had my C7 since early October. We have little traffic but I was in a line moving slow so shifted out of 1st to 2nd at probably 15 mph. It came on and I fumbled! Finally realized what happened and put it in 4th! If the fellow behind me happened to receive a text message when I was slowing, not moving as he expected, and he responded like many do with a Pavlov's Dog learned response and looked at his phone he would have hit my rear! Bad enough folks are distracted with cell phones and texting, no need to give them any excuse! Put one on early, inexpensive insurance!
