New C7 Vert is here with review.
I had a 2005 C6 coupe and then a 2008 JSB Vert which I loved but this is a whole new ballgame. I picked up my C7 Z51 Vert with Mag ride and 3LT on Wed. and have had the chance to drive it a few hundred miles and I could not be more shocked and impressed with what GM has done with this car. It is light years ahead of my C6 cars in terms of every possible measurable and non measurable sensory/tactile experience. The difference between the junk GM built in the 70's and the C6 is roughly the difference between the C6 and the C7. It is like going from a single propellor plane to a starship.
The power delivery and flexibility of the engine is much more linear and smooth. The steering feedback and brakes work and feel much better. The ride is much quieter with the top up or down and particularly with the top up at high speeds the car is just whisper quiet. The NPP exhaust in Sport mode sounds perfect and the heads up display, electronics, stereo you name it are all a million times more sophisticated and refined.
My C6 coupe felt like I was sitting in a frisbee, this car feels like a Coach bag. I would HIGHLY recommend the black 3lT to anyone considering it vs the 2LT and has the coin. This is truly a world class interior.
This new car is the perfect combination between a luxury cruiser and a race car. It is far better than I dared dream it could be and it works on a level that transcends all the performance numbers, data, and reviews you can read. You really have to sit in it and drive it to experience what has been achieved here on so many levels. The design team and project managers really need to be congratulated on what was clearly a labor of love by people who love cars and know what they are doing.
Salute!

Great review golfbone! It's good to hear other's echo my sentiments on the comparison from C6 to C7, but expressed better than I'm capable of.
We're not putting the last generation vette down, it's a great car, but the whole machine/driver interface has improved. I attribute a lot of that to the stiffer frame and steering mounts, but I know there are many factors involved in the handling improvements.
From reading this forum, it seems many don't like the lines of a vert with the top up, but I really like the look and your pics of this. Gives the car a rich, racer look. Your silver and black accents with a hint of color showing through at the calipers makes for a unique, great appearance.

Im 60 years old and in Feb 1973 I had my first ride in a race car 73 Orange and new one of these days I would own a corvette. Took me a long time but I bought my first corvette C5 2004 base coupe three years ago and It was everything I ever dreamed about. That is until April 2013 a local dealer let me test drive a C6 2013 GS loaded. Needless to say 3 days later I owned two corvettes ,LOL The same dealer offered me a C7 $3000 under MSRP guess what? On June 4th I go to Bowling Green to watch my new Z51 Vert Laguna Blue, Kalahari Top and INT NPP Red Calipers being built. Then my wife and I do NCM delivery on June 19th. Cant wait to see the difference you talk about in the car because I absolutely loved my C6. Will be posting pics asap

I am impressed with my C7 too. However I'm not as hard on the C6. The C6 is a great car and will out perform many cars currently on the market., the electronics are now dated. I can feel the C6 heritage when I drive the C7 though more refined. Happy motoring - SUMMER - yes - yes - yes!!!

Thanks!! My buddy who bought the Cyber Grey Z51 3LT MSR vert you see in the backround traded in a 2013 Porsche 911. He is also very happy. He told me last night "I didn't change cars to save money....I did it because I wanted the better car".
That is what GM has achieved here. A car that isn't just "better for the money" but better.....period.
Absolutely loving it.
