Just my opinion, but this thing is ugly as hell. I'd be embarrassed to have it on my car.

The instructions from the mfr say plates can be screwed thru the mesh without potential for the material to run...no idea if it is valid....

I might have missed it but is it machine washable? One trip back and forth to the west coast of Fl and that'll look like a bug zapper gone bad. I'd hate to think it's one time use, joke. But what's the best method for cleaning it when it's very, heavily soiled?

Nonstop, I actually drove over 800 miles (to Bloomington Gold) last weekend and all I had to do was wipe it down.

I have 2 good questions.

I've heard people say they wash it in their washing machine. Do the bugs and bird crap go down the drain, or in my next load of laundry will I end up with bugs and bird crap in my underwear?

I assume the mesh is made of some kind of thread - black thread. Would it be possible to use a "clear" thread, so that the color of the paint would show thru?
