Default iPhone Mount - C7

Has anyone found an iPhone mount for the C7 that they prefer above others.

The most popular iPhone mounts (which were use in our other vehicles) obstructs vision (badly) in the C7.

Recommendations appreciated and thank you in advance.

My recommendation would be NOT to use one. What functionality do you need it for?

I always put a big slab of 2" Velcro on the back of my iphone cases and then a smaller strip on the dash and/ or console of my cars in a convenient spot. That allows me to just smack it down without going through a lot of gyrations or even looking, for that matter. In my c7 I put a piece of Velcro on the pop up receptacle on front of the shifter. I had to sort of tape it down with the Velcro to keep it from popping up when I pick up the phone. Not pretty, but then again I can't see it with the phone stuck to it. This spot is convenient to the usb outlet in the console too. The sound quality of the iphone is not as good using blue tooth as it is using it hard wired through the lightning port, which I prefer. When I sell the car all I have to do is pull off the strip of velcro. If nothing else, you'll have to admit that the price is right!

Just my way of doing it.

Apparently ProClip doesn't make one for the Stingray, here's a thread where someone adapted their C6 ProClip.

I think I remember reading a post that said ProClip was working on a mount for the C7 that should be done sometime around the end of this month.

You could look into the Nite Ize Steelie. I bought my GF one and she loves it. Seems to work really good unless you are trying to charge it in landscape orientation. Her car charger makes it lean to one side from the tension so it works best in portrait when charging.

I pop up the cigarette lighter charger in front of the cup holders and rest my iPhone against it. It fits in there great and works perfectly and the phone doesn't move even into sharp turns at high speeds.

I'm reluctant to post my solution because I get a lot of snide comments from the style police to my Function over form mods. This is a pretty nasty place for positive feedback. Screw em, works for me. Anyway here goes.

I use an iMagnet mount (for both my phone and Garmin Nav unit) on a Pro-fit ball 3M'd to the dash. It works great, doesn't block anything and is inexpensive to put together. BTW, I never mount my phone (but I can). This is mostly for my occasionally used nav nit.

I use some of the same parts for my $12 Radar detector mount:

I like the iMagnet idea and especially like that for use of the Valentine 1.

I tried the vent-mounted phone holder and did not see it as a viable choice.

I very much appreciated the input and recommendations.

Modshack corrupted me too for the V1 mount. I copied his setup and I am totally pleased with the results. The Blendmount and any other radar detector mount that hooks to the mirror makes the mirror vibrate and blur up the image. Mounting the RD to the trim piece puts it rock solid in the car, at the perfect height, and the mirror is untouched.
