Yeah, right.
No another member has said not to buy first year Corvettes because they have quality issues. I'm just saying it appears he was 110% correct if you look at these threads of wheels coming off and all sorts of other terrible stuff that should not happen on a new $80K car.

Ah yes, because if nobody buys the first year, they can just scrap those first 20-30,000 vehicles. Get real.

There is a statistical probability of failure across every single piece of machinery and electronics on the planet... If you want to draw a correlation or create a straw man argument out of all of this, you're only damaging your own credibility.

I wouldn't spend my money on the type of junk im seeing here so GM can learn how to build it right at my expense. Why should anyone else?

In his defense, he did have a lot of other weird stuff wrong with the car.

We pretty much all have orange peel thanks to the robots, but it was just anther item to throw on the stack.

You can, its a non compliance issue. Poor paint appication is an issue as long as you can prove it is worse than "normal"

I was replying to your question. Don't drag me into your BS, I'm not siding with the OP, simply relaying that it was more than orange peel.

Someone needs a cold beer or two! Relax.

I really wonder about some posts like the OP's. So, you didn't like your car but -- what did we learn from your experience? That you have some extra left over parts to sell?

Just hate words getting put into my mouth. Not saying he's right or wrong, was just saying it was more than peel. It's all good, just misunderstood your tone/target.

If we could return our cars for peel, I'd be on #3 or 4 by now. Bad paint on all of these, but what can we do? Same old GM... Same with the GTO days and everything past that.

I've had my Blue Moon for the day. They make an orange-inclusive brew now, saving me the trouble of cutting one and squeezing it.

I can understand the rear end issue but the rest of it just sounds like he wanted to

1) get rid of it

2) sell us some parts he doesn't need anymore

3) get some revenge

Kinda sad really.

Sounds about right.

Now what surprises me is the law in his state, but if he found a way, then it's legit.

Some states just suck to get a real lemon bought back, others are easy. Kind of hard here, brutal in Texas.

I guess I'm not as spooked by first year models as some people. My first year C6 (2005) had only two minor issues; rear-end chatter (became noticeable around 10K miles) and a bad electric window motor at 35K miles. Both were fixed under warranty. So far, my 2014 C7 is perfect!

Some people have WAY too much time on their hands. Embarrassing for them really and what a sad, sad life they must lead to bother coming back here over and over again. The time and energy they would spend on this is just bizarre IMO. Oh well, just ignore and move on

Whining or not, GM had plenty of chances to fix my issues.

GM choose to A) take their time in fixing my car B) say that squeaks, rattles and orange peel are normal.

The Lemon Law wasn't just about orange peel, it was one of the issues that GM neglected to handle but rather push it off and say it was normal.

I've owned over 30 cars in the past 10 years, I have NEVER had a car in the shop as much and never even once considered lemon lawing a car.
Of all those cars about 15 of them were GM products.

I sure hope you have to go through this one day, so you can see what this "Whining" is about!

Yes, I wanted to get rid of it. As I stated I wanted to mod the car but felt uncomfortable with this particular car as I really felt like it just might fall apart once I started modding it. I've had the kit for over two months and if you know me, it was killing me not to install it. On my C6 I was pushing close to 600 RWHP and never once thought the car was going to fall apart.

Sell you parts I don't need? Why would I need to lemon law the car to do that? Do you think it would make it easier?

Revenge? On what? What did GM do to me?

As to the orange peel issue, I gave GM two chanced to make it right. The said it was part of the "design" which we all know is BS. Even if that was the only reason, which it wasn't, GM should have fixed it.

You let me know how you'd feel about your new car being in the shop for close to 40 days.

You purchase a new car so you don't have to accomplish repairs. If the new car spends more than a day or two in warranty maintenance that is unexceptable. You can get a lemon, I had one years ago, early vin number was not an issue. You wonder how can one car get all the bad parts? Happens!

Tough crowd.

Anybody ever try lemon lawing a new car? Not as easy as it looks on TV. If GM bought it back, you better believe something was very wrong.

Sorry about the bad luck with this one and I hope the next one goes much, much better, Mr. runutzzzzzzzz.
