Looking for a carbon fiber center console
Hello,
Has anyone seen this for sale. I'm looking for carbon fiber on the black plastic portion of the center console from just below the radio back to where the cupholders are.

Doc,
I noticed on the Apsis website that the center console is sold in a complete piece that replaces the brushed aluminum also. Yet I noticed in your pics that yours does not. Did you have them custom make it?

I've talked to Jersey about a "group buy"-I seriously doubt this will happen. These are expensive propositions. Making these pieces is not easy. Yes, they are pricy, but they're the real carbon fiber. Remember, GM wants $1,000 for their Carbon Fiber dash.

Not likely in this case.. Apsis was one of the only people to do real carbon fiber interior parts like the consoles for the C6 too. There wasn't much competition with those either. Just look around at what real carbon fiber dash and console pieces are available for the C6 and what those actually cost and you will understand what I mean.
What you are missing is that they start off with the factory console cover and then laminate over it. This is a very high quality part that requires a very labor intensive process to get the quality and finish as perfect as they do. Most carbon fiber lamination is much thicker but with parts like these, there is very little room for thick material. As such, it's a very specialized costly process and Apsis's quality is second to none. If the part doesn't come out perfect the first time, it's scrapped. There is no fixing it in most cases.
There may be some competition down the line but I highly doubt it's going to be anywhere near the quality of Apsis while also being lower priced.

Talk like this and we'll never get a group buy.

LOL.. Don't be so sure about that. It's not like these things fly off the shelves at those prices. A group buy with a decent discount would certainly generate a bump in sales for them. Then again, I don't really remember Apsis ever doing a group buy on parts like these. They did however offer group buys on seats and a couple of other VERY expensive parts so you never know.
