2014 Corvette DIY Bumper Cover and Grille Removal Video

Great. That's what I ordered. Stock chrome. I may be in the minority, but I don't like the Z51 split spokes. Too busy. Also harder to clean.

I recently purchased and installed my Z06 grille from Gene Culley at CULTRAG Performance. Jeremy's tutorial video was awesome and easy to follow.
I had two minor issues that delayed my install a bit. First, the side marker lights did not unplug as easily as I would have thought. Once you pull the slider tab out, you need to pinch the harness on the opposite side of the tab and unplug.
And second, there are two clips on a black bracket that hold the bumper cover in place adjacent to each headlight. In my case, simply pulling up on the bumper cover was unsuccessful. It was not until after I removed every screw and bolt possible and lifted the cover up and towards the windshield that I saw the 4 bolts (2 on each bracket) which hold the brackets in place. I used a 9/32" socket on a three-eights drive extension handle to back out the two bolts on each bracket which then freed up the bumper cover and allowed me to remove it. I believe a 7mm socket will work as well, but I didn't have a long enough extension for my quarter-inch drive socket wrench. Just remember to retighten the bolts before you reinstall the bumper cover.
Here is the bracket that holds the clips at the top corner of the bumper cover next to each headlight. You can also see them clearly in Jeremy's pictures.
The finished project. Yes, I know. The hood is partially open.

And second, there are two spring clips that holds the bumper cover in place adjacent to each headlight. In my case, simply pulling up on the bumper cover was unsuccessful. Once you remove the two corner plastic pieces from under the hood, as Jeremy alludes to, you can see one of the black clips holding the top of the bumper cover in place. I used a flathead screwdriver to push and bend the clip back. The other clip is not visible from either side. It was not until after I removed every screw and bolt possible and lifted the cover up and towards the windshield that I saw the two screws which hold the clip plate in place. I used a 9/32" socket on a extension handle to back out the two screws which them freed up the bumper cover and allowed me to remove it. Just remember to retighten the screws and push back the one clip if you decide to bend it back like I did.
Thanks Gene for grill!
Sorry for the crappy pic, but it's dark out so had to use flash indoors.

Burning Brakes
I have yet to install mine. Can anyone make a short video or take a better picture of the difficult area around the headlights. I can't picture it.
Also are any of you guys installing the brake ducts to the new grill or just leaving it empty/open?

[QUOTE=Bucknut2006;1588472991]Thanks for the pointers on this. The clips were really tight on mine to the point that the edges of the panels actually have some paint scrapped off before I even touched them.]
Looks good.
The tabs on my cover were also scraped a bit. Must of have been done when they installed the bumper cover at the factory due to the fact that they snap that area in place.

I can't answer your question in regards to installing brake ducts as I have a Z51 and it comes with them. However, below is FYREANT's thread of his brake duct install on his base coupe. He's even listed the part numbers needed to be purchased to successfully complete the process.

These grilles look awesome. What is the quality of the grille. I am told that the middle portion is quite thin.
Has anyone reported a break in the plastic grille?

Ya know I was going to do a write up for the Z06 grille in my brake duct guide, but your video is plenty good enough that I didn't need to. I'll probably just link to your vid lol

This is definitely a project, or for me it was and I'm pretty handy.
Took me about 4 hours to do mine and I'm pretty sure I won't be taking the front cover off again!! However, I am very pleased with the result!
Yes, the "tabs" by the headlight gave me trouble. I used the 9/32 and long extension method.

Another Z06 Grille here too! Thanks Jeremy!!
For those loosening the bracket by the lights to remove the bumper cover, I used this and it was much easier than a ratchet with extensions.
