I do not understand all black
It shouldn't but it bothers me when I see totally blacked out Corvettes. I thought back into my past and all I can associate with darkened vechicules is the military. These are the pictures I get when I think of this style. I am not saying that the owners are not proud of their cars, I am just saying that it appears to some of us as a little over the top. It is important to say that those who earn their money decide how to spend it. What I don't understand is the fad. To each his/ her own.

That is kinda like hearing a popular song that you don't like and not understanding how people could like the song. Taste is subjective that is why ice cream comes in different flavors. If we all liked the same thing, life would be boring.
With that said, I also can't understand why people like cars all blacked out-(see above for answer.)

I love how to some it's a stupid fad and if you tell them anything about their car is a fad they would lose their mind.
No one is telling you to "black out" your Vette, don't worry about how others choose to dress their car up.
All I'm saying is, if someone asked for your opinion, a simple "it's not for me" or "i don't really like it" would be fine. No need to start a thread on your personal issues with a look that LOTS of people like.

I love the look dearly. Its a macho mean looking look. Rather ominous. Iam going black with the black wheels but red calipers and also red full length dual racing stripes to give it some very real "contrast". Still deciding between a black interior or a red interior. Like you said, to each his own. My last 3 cars have all been black and I love them. They are hard to keep clean though.

I like the look of blacked out cars. It was at the top of my list to order. However after some consideration, I think some of the lines of the C7 as well as some of the accent pieces get lost in the sea of blackness. It is still a great looking car, though.

They need some white doors and a huge chrome siren/red light on top, to set them off from the run of the mill cars with chrome wheels.

I like black so much, I have "BLACK MAGIC" lettered on both sides of my all black baby. However, I did go with chrome wheels. My C7 that is headed for production will be torch red with black wheels, red calipers, black spoiler and mirrors and visible carbon roof with color surround.

I do not understand starting a thread just to tell everyone what you don't like.

While I dont care for the "all black" look either. Its known as murdered out.. and is very popular among all vehicles as many people love it.
Murdered out cars can be defined as: When a vehicle has black interior, black exterior and black wheels. These vehicles commonly have dark tint and aftermarket accessories such as black taillight covers and badges to aid in blacking out the vehicles appearance. As you can tell from these pictures: (http://www.pinterest.com/carlnree/mu...out-all-black/) Murdered out doesnt just refer to all black vehicles. Fans of the same all black theme have also used it on their motorcycles, homes, furnishings, clothes, shoes, toys, watches, guns, paintings, etc. Hell I guess you could say that even fans of Darth Vader love the murdered out look.
At the end of the day, its not my money they are spending.. so if thats what they prefer then why worry about why someone else likes it?

It's simple, good guys wear white and bad guys wear black. It's been that way throughout history. Black has always been associated with the dark and sinister as well as mysterious.

Simply BLACK IS one of the most popular exteriors colors for the C7 Corvette:
