I have no problem wearing a dealer sticker/badge on my car as long as the dealer pays me to advertise for them for as long as it is on the car.

Cheers.

I don't think ANY dealer in So. Cal. would dare to put one on a new car of any type. My first task when I get a new car home is to take off the license plate frames and fillers.

The dealer stickers are very common here in North West Florida. I ask people why its there and most say they didn't know it would come off. Others just don't care. Amazing.
My C7 dealer granted my wish and didn't put one on my silver but.
I have removed several of my friends stickers to there amazement.

27 years ago I purchased a new Chrysler through the military auto sales overseas and they arranged delivery through a dealer in Birmingham, AL called "Roebuck Chrysler". When I returned to the states, I got the call to come get the car. When I got there I had to wait while they drove the car around front. The car was wet as though they had just hit it with the water hose. Under the droplets on the car, I could see it was FILTHY. It looked as if someone had walked right over the top of the white paint with black muddy shoes, the seats and carpets were filthy and greasy, I popped the hood and saw that none of the fluids had been topped off and of course the tank was empty. Now these dealers are paid by Chrysler Military Sales to prep the car for delivery and clearly this one was not even touched. I complained bitterly to the guy delivering the car and could see I was getting nowhere. Disgusted, I got in the car and drove away (these days I would have been a lot more forceful). Oh,the reason for this post? Well, the one thing the dealer did do was paste a HUGE, I mean like 5"-6" plate on the rear of the car that exclaimed in bold letters:

ROEBUCK CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH. WHERE THERE'S A WILL THERE'S A WAY!

I always tell them after the deal is signed that I charge $100 per sticker per week for their ad. So far, no takers.

Dealer web addresses are becoming more common on new cars in my area. As with dealer plates, there's usually an incentive to keep them on. My mother purchased a Honda CR-V and the dealer's website was across the rear glass (along the top). The incentive? Free tire rotations. Per my mother's request, I promptly removed said decal.

I decided not to buy a Vette when I requested that they remove their sticker. The salesman said " We won't remove it but you can". I've owned Vettes since the 60's and dealers haven't changed one bit in that time. Still lousy.

Not all dealers are that way. I purchased my vet from Bill Harris in Ashland, Ohio. First class dealership which was extremely positive. They said they wouldn't think of putting a sticker on my vet. A shame a dealer like this only received two vets all year.

That is what is used by most of the dealers in this area. My ATS came with a dealer license frame and my last two pickups had dealer name hitch receiver inserts.

Putting a sticker on a C7 appears to indicate a lack of customer/market understanding on the part of the dealer. I wouldn't worry about the sticker since it will come off easily but I would wonder if this is an indication of the overall quality of the dealership experience to come.

So how much are they paying you to advertise their dealership?

Can't think of any NEW car dealers that put stickers on their cars anywhere around here. Heck, they won't even drill the bumpers for the front plates anymore - even though it is the law. I told BWM I wouldn't take delivery of my car if it had a front plate bracket installed. They said, "What? We NEVER put a bracket on the front unless the owner requests it."

I don't like it on the bumper but I always ask for one to stick on the back side of the hood. This way years later you will always know where it came from and I always enjoy seeing old dealer stickers anyway. It's like a brand to the cars early beginnings.

Here in California, I don't think any dealer does stickers...it's all license plate frames.

Growing up in Iowa during the 60s and 70s, the dealers either did stickers or a sticky-back plastic emblem.

I've even seen a few cars with a metal emblem riveted to the trunk lid! Does any dealer do that anymore?

I plan to leave the dealer sticker on my C7 a while longer. The black sticker on crystal red beneath the tail lamp does not scream at you when you walk by. LOL, the one next to the crossed flags in the photo at the top of this thread was not well placed at all. I don't blame you for not liking it!

No dealer sticker is acceptable. Maybe a license plate frame, but no stickers.

The only "sticker" I will tolerate on my new Corvette is the one the NCM will be placing on my door jam. I will be pleased and proud to keep it there, hell I will have paid nearly $1K for the privilege.

Those little stickers are nothing, not even worth the conversation. I remove the 4X4 stickers from my 60k truck without batting an eye. :ack
