Default C7 GM Accessories: Splash guards

After reading opinions on the forum, I thought these would be good for my 2015 Z51 TPW 08/14. Went to parts dept at Bud's to order these; Parts manager said these were junk and a waste of money. He said customers that did order had asked for a refund as they added no protection. Any thoughts? I still think I would like to have these on my C-7.

They add more than you think. These Z51 tires pick up everything and there's a bit more protection with them than the ones that come on the car. I can tell you EVERY time I park I have little stones attached to my tires, these get thrown around back there quite a bit and I'd rather have them hit a plastic guard than my paint.

I had the same guards on my C6 and they protected the sides of the car very well. They blend with the wheel well and are not very noticeable, but are aerodynamically designed for protection.

I got the painted ones to match my car. You can hardly notice them, but they work great. I highly recommend them.

That parts manager is clueless. How can they not at the vey least protect better than the factory ones. I ordered mine before my car was even built. I put them on the first day I got the car. They perfectly and definitely protect the sides. Disregard his advice and get 'em. I paid $121 for fronts/rears from a Chevy dealer on EBay.

I wouldn't say they're useless, but I would have preferred that they stick out a bit further.

They are not junk, they provide much more protection. They are easy to install and well worth the money.

This is version II I just installed. Version I hung down an inch lower and both sides snapped off 1 hour north of the museum when the car bottomed out on I65!......I65 in KY-IN is some bad highway!!
The GM flap helps with outward "stuff" not "stuff" flying straight rearward from the tire which is what you get the most of.

Here's Version I under construction which was longer. I did not have the car yet so I was eye-balling height off cars in dealerships.

As most have said, better than nothing. My dealer will install mine before I pick up my new baby this week.

Put a clear bra on those because the rocks will chip the paint. You can always re apply another clear bra. Dupli color has a good spray on clear bra that can be pealed off anytime you want. Also, 3M has something similar.
