I can say, the 360 is a completely different driving experience than the c7.

Yeah, I've seen that -- which is why I was surprised. Now I'm convinced that either:

a) the driver of the vette in the video is awful; or
b) the F430 in that video is modded.

The guy I ran with was DEFINITELY at WOT; no way to get to those speeds without pushing it.

Given its similar horsepower and not a HUGE difference in weight, seems more plausible that the cars are more evenly matched than the youtube video would make it appear.

Here in Naples when i see a hot woman driving a ferrari, Lambo, or any other high end exotic or Mercedes the first thing going through my mind is that she did not buy it, rather her man did. Probably 1 out of a 100,000 woman are capable of affording those types of cars.

I didn't make the rules just observe them.

Nice sexist comment.

I know plenty of women who can afford them and more.

Get out of the stone ages dude, women make plenty of money these days.

That F430 could be modded, but it's not easy getting meaningful gains from such a highly tuned NA engine. Similar situation with a GT3. Aftermarket headers without the precats do make a bit of difference, though. That 430 sounded stock to me, however.

I owned a 430 for over five years, also had a C6 Z06. I've driven a C7. Like the others above who've driven both, the 430 felt faster to me. Certainly more responsive due to the light flywheel and flat plane crank. The gearing is more optimized, too. As you said, they're similar in weight and power so neither one is going to run away from the other. For a car designed nearly ten years before the C7, the 430 is still a fantastic performer and provides a driving experience that is, with all due respect to the C7, on another level. As well it should be given the price difference.

If there is one car I regret selling it's my Ferrari F430 spider. Best of the modern sports cars I've ever had.

while I agree with you to a certain degree, I think that there's a lot of women who can afford them but just how many women actually buy a Ferrari or Lambo, most of those rich types are into the Mercedes SL's, BMW 6 convertibles, 911 cabriolets, even maybe the R8 Spyders, I rarely see a woman driving those exotic Italians unless of course OP, they were bought for them.

Then I wish women would stop complaining about the pay disparity between the genders.

Totally totally agree with you. Plenty of women out earn men and can afford fancy cars however, most are smart enough to not waste their money on these ***** measuring materialistic toys.

And men don't? Watches, ties, suits, power tools etc. Both genders spend money on crap we don't need but men significantly outspend women in the sports car market. How many women do we see on here that are discussing that a C7 is better than (_____) fill in the blank because it's 1/100th of a second faster or some other dumb horsepower/torque comment that is utter a bazillion times each day by us chest pounding testosterone fueled primates.

My post said 'materialistic toys' meaning cars. Not shoes, pursues, boob jobs etc. Those are a given, but only a fraction of the cost of a sports car.

You can rationalize your argument however you want to. It's not that serious.

LOL. I married the right woman. She hates to shop. The Shelby GT500 in the garage is hers. She wanted me to get the C6, and was fully in favor of trading it on the C7.
