There isn't anywhere near a $17k difference in value between identical 2014s and 2015s. Not nearly enough improvement to the 2015s to make that much of a difference.

You will do fine selling it yourself.
$17,000 seems high to me, too. Maybe they looked at this site to get that figure.

For OP, all depends on what they are selling you a 2015 for--Supplier pricing--probably not? That makes a difference. Might help if you broke out trade price and selling price.

Also, 2014's are old model at this point (1 year old), with 2015's on the way with new 8 spd, 2014's will take a large hit.
You actually sold your 2014 and "made money"?? Does that include your cost of sales tax, title/registration, and delivery fees??

Actually yes. Bought before price increase, but when car was delivered had sticker with new pricing. Also helps that I had $5K off sticker when I bought LOL! Also, taxes will roll over to new car, AND had a trade when I bought 2014, so taxes were covered on that.

Thanks

You already sold your 2014??? Didn't even get a chance to see your black C7 out in the hill country. I assume your going with MacMulkin again?

Absolutely--ordered the exact same config. Thought about QCC rims (the new ones), but stuck with all black. Really wanted 8 spd trans and a few other goodies.

Awesome!!! Congrats. The A8 will be hard to beat for sure and the extra goodies on the 2015's are hard to ignore. Already talking to Tommy about a Z06.......MacMulkin is the only way to go.

Have my $2K deposit in March on Z06 with him. Probably won't be until Apr next year, but looking forward to it.

Hopefully 2015 C7 will be here end of Sept.

Better you than me.You can have that 8 speed. With this 7 speed manual I can't remember
The last time that I've had so much fun.Automatics put me to sleep.
But if that's what you want go for it.

I agree with the people stating selling out rite would most likely shave that 17k down quite a bit. Have a nice day all.

Plus, there's almost zero info out about it at this point.

That makes total sense. The worst thing that happens to me is after buying the latest and greatest thing, I see a fairly new option and feel my item is outdated or not as great when that's not reality.

not trying to sound like a 15 HATER BUT MY BROTHER just got a 14 ram, he said he could of had a 6 sp but opt for the 8 speed auto and told me it get's annoying with the truck constantly changing. that is a truck so I know there is a big diff but I will keep my 14my and get a 16my, probably more hp and better options and colors. most car's will make small changes year after year but the 15my the option I like is the camera.....JMO

BTY sell it your self, if you got it early you got a discount already, remember the increase a few months ago.

The only way that I would think about parting with my 2014 C7 ,is for the Z06. And with the
Rumors I'm hearing about the price I will most likely do the supercharger parts ,labor $7,000- $10,000. sorry if I got off topic.I've been told I do that to much.Again please excuse me.

Default $17,000 difference----outrageous!

I had a 14 Z51 3LT 7 speed coupe with 5200 miles on it. MSRP on it was $66,700 and I paid $65,700 and took delivery back on 7-29-2013. I decided I wanted a Vert and sold my 2014 coupe about a month ago to a local used car dealer for $62,000. Also, the coupe was diagnosed with a bad cranshaft bearing and had a brand new engine installed under warranty and that lowered the resale about $3,000 over what I could have sold it for.
I ordered an identical Vert as I had with the coupe. MSRP of approx. $75,000 and I paid $68,000 for it with supplier discount. Total cost difference of about $6,000(and the Vert is $5,000 more expensive to begin with).
So, even if you were paying MSRP on the 2015 (if you join a credit union you should be able to get supplier discount of about 9% from many dealers) that means you would be taking a minimum hit of $17,000 on your 14!
You should be able to sell your 2014 to to dealer (even a used car dealer if you shop it a few places) of no more than $6-10,000 under MSRP and even less if you have a Z51.
If you put your car on the forum or eBay you should sell it in a week for a good price. However, the longer you wait, the bigger the hit.
You can make your deal with a reasonable difference if you shop it a bit.

I checked my 2014 sticker price vs. a new 2015 with all the same options, (Z51 / 2LT / Auto / NPP / MRC). Difference in price is $ 3330.00. Factor in real depreciation (5%) and the delta should have been about $ 6500.00. Any more than this and the f$%^&* was playing with you.

Sell your 2014 on Autotrader and go in as a cash buyer - you'll do a lot better. Used 2014's are selling very fast these days - for good reason. A loaded 2014 Z51 for less than $60K is an even BETTER bargain than a new 2015 with the same options for $67K.

Trading a 14 for the same 15 because you think the A8 is a huge improvement over the A6 is a waste of money. The A8 isn't proven.

About $17K less than a 2015

OK seriously, don't know. Look at Autotrader to get a gauge if you are selling direct. Take it to Carmax and two other places and that will giveyou a good range.

I sell all my cars (keep them less than 3 years) on Auto Trader...though, the last one sold on Craigslist - first time I tried Craigslist.
