Interesting last Friday in NJ
Got caught in a major thunderstorm in NJ last Friday. It was raining so hard that the wipers on full speed setting could not remove the water fast enough. Interesting part is when I exited I-287 South to go on Route 208 South, the flash flooding started. When I attempted to exit 208, the car directly in front of me (about 50 yards in front) had water half way up the doors. Fortunately, I was able to put the Vette in reverse and get to the middle of the road which was puddled but not experiencing flash flooding. Great that all drivers cooperated with one another. I made it to the next exit and was able to navigate through the rampaging water. What an experience - 12 miles in 45 minutes. What's the purpose of telling you this story, you might ask? The Vette handled superbly as well as the Michelin(best rain tire) run flats. I never lost confidence in the car. My Porsche 911 would not have performed as well. Touché GM and Michelin. BTW, the car is a Z51, 7 Speed. Drive safely and confidently , my friends.

Drifting
About 6 weeks ago coming back from my son's house on the highway I got into a similar (down here in Dixie we call them 'Frog Stranglers) downpour. Yep, I was really worried about planing and the tires stayed 'stuck' to the road. BTW, I've got 12K on the ODO now

Burning Brakes
Yep, I can relate... Got caught in a storm returning from Atco, in my C5, with drag raidals. Those flat, drainless, NJ roads flood so quickly. I remember 35mph as being my average speed.
