It’s not that the number set a record for Corvette production. Far from it as it actually hits the top sales by model year chart at #14. But it is the 3rd best production number in the modern era (since 1985′s 39,729) with only 2005 (37,372) and 2007 (40,561) having greater totals.'

Default Here are the numbers

37,288 Corvettes built in MY2014. To put this in a little context, the recession hit Corvette very hard. The C6 was very popular it's first 4 years of production, but then production fell off a cliff. Chevy hasn't built more than 16k since 2009 with less than 12k built in 2012.

I thought the breakdown was interesting. 3LT much more popular than I would have guessed.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray’s Production Stats:

41% Z51 Coupe – 15,431
1LT – 9%
2LT – 29%
3LT – 61%

30% Base Coupe – 11,134
1LT – 23%
2LT – 42%
3LT – 35%

15% Z51 Convertible – 5,680
1LT – 4%
2LT – 23%
3LT – 73%

14% Base Convertible – 5,043
1LT – 13%
2LT – 42%
3LT – 45%

A couple numbers that stand out:
65% automatics (actually a bit lower than past years)
64% of all non-Z51s have Chrome wheels.
84% have NPP
82% have navigation

My observation has been that a lot of dealer inventory was 3LT's... I suspect that they saw the crazy demand, so they just started selling fully loaded 3LT's, because they know they'll sell and that's probably where the best profit is.

With the advent of the A8, it will be interesting to see the percentage of automatics in the next couple model years.

Buying navigation appears to only be controversial in CF. As I've said before, I refuse to pay more than $50k for a car that doesn't have nav.

It is where the best profit is.

I think it says a lot about the average corvette consumer.

I would like to know the percentage of Z-51s that also included magnetic ride.

Compare that to only 34% of Z51s with Chrome wheels.

No, actually 56.6% were Z51's. 41% only includes the Z51 coupes.

Approximately 63% of the Z51's included MSRC.

I expect sales to continue to be strong in 2015. My predictions for 2015 model year : 70% auto and 30% manual, colors to be really close as 2014, and 60% Z51 and 40% base.

Guess the rear end design wasn't such a negative as first thought huh?? Lol, I think this proves GM got it right with the C7, its edgy looks will keep it in demand for years IMO.

If black was available for non-Z51 I bet the chromes would go down dramatically. Almost 50% blacks on Z51s.

Looks pretty good when you see that graphically against history.

Good numbers, but I think the chrome is misleading in that almost every non Z51 in inventory has chrome wheels. Dealers order them as profit items, along with many other items. I will bet that the trend of chrome wheels really changes with the 2015 model. Many better choices in wheels.

Correct, my oversight......I guess there's a lot of people tracking their cars considering according to some people, the Z51 package is ONLY good if you're tracking your car.

lol.

The only reason I'm getting the Z51 is for magnetic ride. Otherwise, I would get the new appearance package, NPP, and forgo the Z51.

But then the Z51 is cooler.
