Hey, Cheverolet customer service, how do I get them to replace this? $70,xxx dollars and this will be the second issue with less than 500 miles on the car.
Tell your service manager that you want it fixed. It's a warranty issue and he should be able to take care of it. I don't see any reason GM wouldn't fix it for you.

I have 1LT Comp seats, so no cooling.....no issue. this may just be an issue with cooled seats? but has any other C7 had this issue?

Suede style products aside, the only way to get better quality leather in a C7 is to buy a 3LT with the standard GT buckets. Everything else comes with the cheaper leather from vinyl coated Mexican cows.

To the extent there is an issue with sub-standard leather in a 2LT, the issue could apply to any C7 trim level, depending upon how the vehicle is equipped.

I am having trouble determining how this applies to my post about cooled seats having the issue, which is 2LT/3LT....not sure where I posted about leather quality....of which even the 3LT is not that great (why I went with 1LT, this is not even close to a luxury car.

Went to the dealer today, Labor Day weekend. The actual service department manager was off. The associate that I talked with didn't impress me. He actually tried to persuade me into thinking this is normal wear??? You would think he is working for GM's financial bottom line. Anyway my salesman agrees with me/us, "Warranty"! Pictures will be forwarded to GM for review. Another thing, associate has oil change issues too; mileage and percentages were discussed, you know the drill. When I brought up yearly oil change requirement, only then he acknowledged, that would be acceptable. I will discuss with actual Service Department Manager after the holiday. Not quite the reception I was expecting, (did expect pictures forwarded to GM and dealer taking position that GM would make determination). Thinking about a replacement dealer???

Warranty claims always go better with the dealer's blessing. How many meetings and conference calls will it take?

Pretty much the same response I got. Accept my car had it from the factory, there is no wear on mine as the car only has less than 700 miles on it now. The passenger seat has only been sat in a few times.

I will be watching this thread for the outcome.

Going to be interesting! I am going to document other vin's and their condition for ammunition towards resolution. As I mentioned previously, surprised at dealer's response. They will discover, I will not go away.

Update: GM has authorized dealer to have interior shop inspect seat, possibly heat will solve problem, if not seat cover change. I will keep you all posted.

Mine is a March build and my driver's seat is coming apart along the left shoulder bolster assembly where it tucks into the seatback. Basically the entire left side is now separated from the seat back. Sent pictures to Chevrolet. Waiting to hear from them. Hope they replace the seat. Car has 4,500 miles on it.

I got a call last week from the service manager. Two + weeks after I took it there for them to look at my seats. Apparently the GM regional rep has approved the replacement of my seats. They've been ordered and when they arrive, I'm told, they'll call me to set up and appointment for the swap.

Sorry to hear of the problems, Larry. Hope your dealer gets the seats fixed fast and the problem does not appear again.

Yes, GM should have gone with the higher quality leather available from the Japanese cows that are native to the slopes of Mt. Fuji. I believe they were bred from the centuries old and famous Nauga line of cattle and are used to produce the superior leather covers known worldwide as Naugahyde!!!!

So far my 3LT seats are perfect.

Twice in the past I've experienced early seat leather breakdown, including a Lexus LS 400 in which the leather was completely torn through in less than 2 years.
3LT has Nappa leather which is different, I not saying it won't come apart, just different
